Boo! Happy Halloween!
Boo!
Which reminds us of the monster concert Neil did in Hamilton, Ontario, Oct 31, 1996 with a 24 song set that went for nearly 3 hours. Here's a report from HyperRust: Neil Days In Canada by Mark Klus a.k.a. "Powderfinger".
Happy Halloween!
A very cool pumpkin carving for Halloween. Here's one from Neil fans Kurt & Lisa. Thanks!
Lastly, don't forget, tonight is "Neil Young Night" on BBC Four!
Director of the documentary Ben Whalley and author Barney Hoskyns today discussed the rare interviews and film not previously broadcast.
They seemed to agree that Young’s up there with Dylan as a songwriter, singer, musician and performer. They said he’s ‘less cerebral, more instinctual’ than Bob. They spoke about Neil matching the intensity and danger of the Rolling Stones with the lyricism of Dylan. He’s able to do ‘loud and intense’ and also ‘soft, quiet and tender’ - absolutely brilliantly.

Booooooo! Here we go again, round and round again....
Amazon has some news today:
SM Live: This title will be released on December 2, 2008.
Original Release Date: November 25, 2008
Maybe it's just the CD only version. It's not clear right now.
But it looks like a shakey delay.
Neil Young Night
BBC Four, from 9.30pm
For a man who has been forcefully reticent when it comes to talking about his past, Neil Young: Don’t Be Denied (10pm, the 60-minute documentary at the centre of the BBC Four Neil Young Night), represents an epiphany for fans of Young (and no doubt the Canadian rocker himself), as he opens up to the film-makers and discusses his career in infinite detail.
Leaving no stone unturned and utilising unseen performance footage from Young’s extensive archives, this is music documentary- making at it’s very best and is a must watch, even for non-Young enthusiasts. Also showing tonight is a classic BBC In Concert from 1971 (9.30pm), and CSNY Déjà Vu (11pm), a recording of the 2006 Freedom Of Speech tour from Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.
Is there any way to see it on any cable or satellite chanells in the US ?
there's something called the "BBC i Player" which allows you to view back shows for FREE, previously screened on the BBC. nevertheless, there's a hitch; only UK residents can use the service, but maybe some IP trickz could change that?!?
anyway, i'll be watching the Neil Young marathon on the BBC tonight.

"As for me, I know I'll be fine. But I don't hold out much hope for the pumpkin."
Hope for the pumpkin! Ain't it clear, his head is the event of the season?
