I notice on ticketmaster some of the concert dates have presale dates. Whats the deal there? How does a person get on the presale list?

Great news on the tour!! I've never seen Neil play that guitar before?
PLLEEEAASSEE someone help me out here. I've never seen Neil, and he is my hero. He's not coming to Vancouver this tour. I HAVE to see him in Seattle, but I don't know the presale password. Anybody know anything?
Are we living in a dream ... Massey Hall! I can't believe this - what a buzz that will be after releasing the Massey CD - he returns - hell someone pinch me
Presale password for Neil? (Seattle)

The CKII Tour -Citizen Kane II- is official. Let's see, we've got Kot in Chicago for 2 nights, Pareles in New York for 2 nights, any old no name in Toronto for 2 nights, all quivering to kiss ass. That'll do. No dates for the ingrates in northern California. Even Selvin had the cheek to end his Pegi interview with her hilarious line "He doesn't hire me just because I'm his wife". Does that jerk at the Mercury News still have his job, daring to say Susan should be playing open mikes instead of releasing an album on Warner? Did I say Susan? Silly me. I mean Pegi. Where is the reverence for a declining old rich guy who just wants to buy his wife a career before he kicks it?
Okay, we've got a month here to make a silk purse. Time's a-wastin'.
Wow, What a bunch of twits on rust. I'm not even that well-informed about Neil, but even I can tell that OP is not a new recording. What a bunch of swaggering, blustering tin-eared ninnies. Neil's biggest fans my rear-end. Thanks for providing a refuge,Thrasher.
Just heard Ordinary People out of Philly.Old Black is going to blow the roof off Massey Hall. Doubled track Neil with Danger Bird guitar. All you critics are just pissing in the wind.
the price you pay to live in LA
Seattle $72-$157
Denver $64-$104
Chicago $57-$157
Wash DC$67-$157
LOS ANGELES $75-$257
wtf
who's to blame ?AEG and their new arena? Neil? Hollywood and Beverly Hills? The nice weather?
How did you hear Ordinary People? I've been trying to find it all day. I thought radio website would stream it but I can't find any site that has. I've heard the live version on youtube, but I want to hear the 18 mintute one!

Nothin like a friend who can tell ya you're just pissin in the wind. The critics'll do him a hell of alot more good at this stage than a legion of asskissers. It's all about the dollar at this point, isn't it, Neil? That and buying Pegi a career.
Oh, and with the release of OP just before ticket sales without clarifying that it's old, nice job on suckering the public into thinking they're going to get a hardrocking full band tour. Lookin out for the people.
Hmm, you would think on a Site that is about Neil you would find Neil Fans but, from the couple of Posts by what surely seems to be the same person from the sentence structure it ain't always so. Ah well a "well informed" fan knows "old songs" on a New Album is standard procedure for Neil. Old, New...great is great! Keep on Rockin' Neil Fans and see ya at the Concerts.
...any word about a continental europe tour?
cheers
knut
Hmmm... You'd think adults would have found a life by now.
Looking forward to Neil... even if it is just more recycled stuff.
Any info on when the tickets for the Toronto show will go on sale? I saw Wilco at Massey Hall in June, right after Live at Massey Hall came out, Neil's gonna blow our minds in that venue.
Getting tickets to Massey Hall is going to be retardedly difficult... but I will try, nonetheless.
Any word on who will be playing with Neil besides Pegi?
Anyone who thinks Ordinary People is a recent recording is seriously deluded. Neil ain't got that anymore. But it must make him feel good to know how astute his fanbase is. BWaaaaaaa!
Hmmm, I've been buying Neil's albums consistently for quite awhile now and I can't think of one since Lucky Thirteen that wasn't a wholly fresh recording. "Well informed fans" know it's "standard procedure", huh? I'm not encyclopedic about Neil, but I'm no novice either. Careful. Swagger does look silly. You must be a rustie if you've got a problem with a reality-based view of Neil. The rusties get all threatened when someone challenges their messiah. They think real fans only bleat.
The timing of this release borders on deceptive advertising. Though I suppose you can make the point that it's so obviously an old recording that only a moron would think otherwise. As usual, Neil's trying to have it both ways, playing to his financial advantage.
Ordinary People is available as a bootleg. The WANTAUGH, NY, 8/27/1988 Blue Notes concert is available on the CRYSTAL CAT "label". It's a bit steep price wise - a lot more than Neil is charging !
You can also see it performed live on You Tube from the same tour...
Neil has made a career out of resurrecting old tunes when the time was right... From Nowadays Clancy, right on through to Ordinary People. When will we get "Interstate", "Gateway of Love","Hitchhiker", "Kansas" and a host of other notables?
It's not about the money - it's about the timing and the fact that Neil's canon is so huge he simply can't put it all out there at once... we'd overload.
"So, all you critics sit alone, you're no better than Neil for what you've shown, with your stomach pumps and your hook and ladder dreams, you should get with Neil for some scenes..."
Some ticket agencies are already offering tickets for New York Dec. 12-13, yet these shows havnt gone onsale yet. They have specific sect./row/seat tickets, so how are the real fans expected to get tickets on their own.One place is asking $ 2000-6000 ! The whole concert ticket thing is in the toilet for the real fans. What happened to waiting on line to get the best seats ? It's all money money money.$100 and higher ticket prices.C'mon Neil, you should treat your fans better.
Wow, geez-- just went to pre-order Seattle tix on neilyoung.com and.. 100 bux? I love Neil-- been my favorite artist forever, but I couldn't get myself to spend the dough. (mainly because I don't have it.) Shame the ticket prices are so high!
No southern dates?
We don't need you around anyhow.
Boo
I can finally rest easy and relax. The last 24 hours was nothing but a mad scramble. I'm going to the Seattle show, and seriously can't wait. I've been waiting all of my 21 years to see the man, and finally I had the dough. Row 15!!!
Ah, good ol' Neil, friend of the working man. Ticket prices in Spokane range from $67 to $132 (and that's US dollars as we would have to travel about 8 hours to get there from Canada). Now we just have to decide before Saturday (when the tickets go on sale) which level we prefer!!
what about massey hall prices??
i really don't understand...i keep finding ticket prices that go way over a thousand dollars!!?!?!??!
is this for real?or are those sites just unreliable??
do "normal" 60-80$ tickets go on sale soon?or is this what we have to deal with?tickets that are $3,700.00 per person, as this website shows for the Boston shows?

Ladies and gentlemen! Here it is, the final 18 min version of ORDINARY PEOPLE!!!

Just click play under the text. This final version is the best music track I've ever heard. No kidding. Unbeliviable and completly mindblowing!!
I must say...for one of the first times ever...I'm really disappointed in the studio version of "Ordinary People!" I have a live version from the Wantaugh, New York concert in 1988 and I must say that is a million times better. The studio version seems too slow and boring. Not that it is a boring song, if I never heard the other versions I'd probably say it's great, but I'm just disappointed in the quality compared to the live versions. The lyrics don't flow nearly as well in the studio version (they're all in practically reversed order) and Neil doesn't sing nearly as fierce as he did back in 1988.
Sorry Neil...but it's like you said "LIVE MUSIC IS BETTER!"
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! Here it is, the final 18 min version of ORDINARY PEOPLE!!!
Warning: This will blow you away!

Pegi,
PLEEEASE give us back your husband.
You get him all the time. Let us have him when he's earning our $. For art's sake. For posterity's sake. You are a woman of very modest musical abilities. Your husband is an astonishing rare talent. We wnnt him back. Michelangelo was painting The Last Judgment on a Sistine Chapel wall at Neil's age and longer. He was designing the dome of St Peter's Basilica in his 70s. Would he have achieved these astonishing feats if he was passing his brushes and pencils to his wife? Noooooooooo!
Uh what exactly are you trying say Pegi is somesort of music talent vampire. I really am confussed people need to just accept she is going to be there. And if you have ever seen them together I think you would be ashamed. They love eachother so much that everyone in the room cant help but fell better for it. I would say that if you got a problem with Pegi you got a problem with Neil. Thats my opinion
I also thing Op is overrated. Pretty good. Love the horns. Love Neil's voice. Find the accented "people" repetition annoying. Love -is that Pancho on guitar? Think it's rather bloated. Certainly no Cortez. I can see why it wasn't released before. Quite good, but far from mindblowing.
Have to agree - that version of Ordinary People sounds pretty limp. I don't appreciate the change in the order of verses -just doesn't make sense. Oh well...
Yes, she IS a music talent vqmpire. She can't play for shit and she cramps his style so she can keep up and her vocals freakin ruin his songs. Don't you have EARS? Great. they love each other. I want to hear some freakin great music outta Neil not this paintbynumbers music that she reduces him to. You have heard Nicolette sing harmony haven't you? Do you even recognize good guitar playing and good harmony? I HAVE seenn them together on stage. It's annoying. They can gaze lovingly at each other for the other 22 hours a day. I'm gagging here.
I don't mind the new ordering. The first time it threw me off, but I'm used to it now, and I don't think it's any better or worse than the '88 ordering.
What I don't like are the few out of sync overdubs... which is just lazinesss, and should have been fixed. Other than that, I don't think we could have asked for a much better studio version.
Campfire quality vs professional grade. Pegi doesn't cut it.
What a bunch of baloney. What "host of other notables?" Neil's canon ain't that full of unreleased songs. That's a myth. Sure he's got a zillion *versions* of songs, but not that many quality songs.
Yes it is about the money. He wanted to put an album out but he's to damn lazy to come up with the material. In my experience at least in recent memory, he releases a current version of an old song. This is just laziness.
Are you guys listening to the same recording that I am? Seriously, the lead guitar on this is some of the best gutiar I've ever heard on a Neil Young recording, just soaked with passion! And for those complaining about the rearranged order of the verses, according to Rolling Stone, this was recorded in 1988, and thus is the ORIGINAL version of the song. So in other words, this is the song as it was originally intended. I had a little difficulty adjusting to this, as well, but once I learned this, I was able to put this aside, since a) the lyrics haven't really changed, and b) the music kicks too much ass for me to gripe too much.
And as for Neil releasing a 20 year old song, he's done this many times before. The Old Homestead from 1980's Hawks and Doves was recorded in 1974, as was Star of Bethlehem from 1978's American Stars N Bars. Ways of Love and Too Far Gone were 80s recordings of songs from 70s, and Ragged Glory's White Line is a 1990 re-recording of a song from 1975. And let's not forget about Razor Love and Silver and Gold from 2000's Silver and Gold album, which date to 1983 and 1987, respectively. This is far from the only time Neil has dug up an archived song and placed it on a "new" album.
to friend of the working man.if you can't pay the price for tickets just wait and get the cd
a workin man and a fan of neil just like you. keep on rockin in the free world peace out...freak
to the Pegi basher:
Obviously, you have a major hangup about Neil's wife. Are you jealous of Pegi or something? Did she wrong you?
Maybe you have a bad marriage and are taking out your anger on another man's spouse? I suggest counseling rather than coming here to vent your frustrations.
Ordinary People studio is so good.Im used to the old live version but the studio has extra shit and that makes it better.I think this is more like 70s Neil than anything hes done in a while.Pegi will not be on stage because she has her own slot, but I hope Neil makes a cameo during her solo set. There is Rhythm guitar on ordinary people, who will be playing rhythm while Neil is soloing out.
About the guitar he may work nthe solos to make it sound full with one guitar. A technique Neil often uses or mabey Ben Keith will play rythem I have heard he is as good on guitar as steel. The other thing is it is possible we may Talbot and Sanpedro at some point during the show.
Psychoanylist, this critic isn't a woman. Nor am I gay. Think about it. How much great stuff did McCartney put out after Linda came on stage? Same with Lennon. Yeah, initially they did some good stuff, but it was pretty short-lived and pretty much marked the start of their declines. Neil has such potential. Shame to see him wastin his time.
By the way, if this turns out to be a great tour, all the genuflecters out there might consider that some critical rabblerousing may have helped light a fire under Neil's lazy ass, give him something to prove. As a psychoanylist I'm sure you understand this concept ;) Certainly it's going to make Pegi try her damnedest.
You missed a few other obvious 'older songs on later albums' -
Country Home (1975 - 1990)
Stringman (1976 - 1993)
Changing Highways (1974 - 1996)
Interstate (1985 - 1996)
Since this tour is called CHROME DREAMS and not CHROME DREAMS 2,do you think he will play chrome dreams during set 1 and chrome dreams 2 for set 2.that would be the shnizzle bam snip snack sack.
Scored 2nd Row Pit tix for Spokane and first row for WaMu in seattle- will be making the trek from Vancouver, BC due to Neil not giving us the love here. Tix are a bit pricey but he is playing smaller than usual venues- any other Pacific NW peeps checking out Neil?
If you criticize Pegi, you've got a personal problem. What? No, if you critcize Pegi, you've got good hearing.
Anyone else find it fishy that there seems to be zero information available for on-sale dates to any of Neil's east-coast dates? On all the individual theatre websites, Ticketmaster and Neil's site, there's no info at all. Smells like intentional hiding. I'm going crazy, standing by this computer at all times to see this Massey Hall on-sale date, I can't miss it!
Since I've been paying attention, the last 15 years or so, Neil has NOT put an old song on a new record without re-recording it. Except for possibly Interstate, which was a bonus track on lp only, right, not on the official release. So in the modern era, Neil has NOT done this once. This is laziness.
They just wanted to get the west coast dates out there right away because they're first. Give it a little time
Like I said, The Old Homestead from 1980's Hawks and Doves was recorded in 1974, as was Star of Bethlehem from 1978's American Stars N Bars. These weren't re-recordings. So in the modern era, Neil HAS done this.
Any information on the Detroit show yet? I will be there no matter what. Just curious when they will go on-sale and how much they will be.
thanks
On the Bad News Beat website they state that Neil will be playing 1stset acoustic 2ndset electric.I wonder how that got that kind of info,I mean where did they read that.Someone let me know where the source was.
On dimedozen torrents they have Neil at FarmAid and since there is no chance in hell anyones getting into that site,I was wondering if anyone could put it on a public site so we can here what hes sounding like this year.
For the above poster looking for farm aid. While dimeadozen does indeed tell you they're full at first, if you refresh their sign up page for a few minutes you will eventually be allowed to register. Try it, it works like a charm.
Really, I don't know why musicians put up with any of us. Neil does not sell tickets or scalp them on ebay. I am an American; does that mean I am personally killing folks in Iraq? I don't set policies of a machine, and Neil does not either. He can use it, play in it, or just rust away playing gigs within 50 miles of his ranch where he can rent the hall and play for 200 friends at 10 bucks a shot. Maybe someday my kids will figure out how to fix all this. We have not been able to. Choose your battles.
Musicians put up with us because they need to perform.
How enlightened. We won't bother to figure things out so we'll just leave it to our kids. Neil's just a cog in a machine. He's not responsible for high ticket prices, even though Dylan, arguably the much bigger legend, charges half as much or less. Dylan's just a fool when it comes to business, is all. A plain fool.
Dammit, why only a Toronto show? What about the rest of Canada ? Ya Seattles not far, but it adds to an already pretty pricey ticket. And its a frickin Tuesday. Truely a Kiefer Gretzky ex-pat. Seriously bummed.
Just Toronto on the Canadian bill??? C'mon Neil...y'all can do bettrn that...Been waitin a long time...There is life west of TO...
For what it's worth, Pegi is a wonderful human being, and it's nice to see they are in love, but she is not a wonderful vocalist unfortunately. Emmy Lou has saved the day on numerous occasions.
Tickets went FAST for the Massey Hall shows. I bought ONE ticket in 4th row, and it says 'obstructed' view, but when I looked on the detailed seating chart...it was not behind a pillar. All I can do is take my chances here....4 rows away from Neil....at friggin' Massey Hall!!!
I can't get the ticket of this tour in Toronto, the concert sold out in one hour (3 shows in Massey Hall).
ticket prices?? whats with this, Boston shows 2000 dollars, well I this is one Neil show I"m gonna miss. You need the money that bad Neil? Fuck that!!!!
C'mon Neil!! Post the N.Y.C. presale info already. I'm going freakin' CRAZY!!!
I got ripped off for the L.A. show. Seeing Neil Young is the closest I get to religion in my life. Yet, I did the presale thing, and under pressure somehow I paid $250 a ticket. The row behind me, I found out later, is $150 a ticket. I just checked Ticketmaster, and there are tickets closer to the stage available now at the $250 I paid. I'm just depressed about it. blah, blah, blah. Sucked all the enthusiasm out of me for this tour.
POST THE NYC SHOWS ALREADY COME ON,
I love Neil and will be at both nights of Bridge School Benefit, in Center Section Row D on Sunday, and in $257 pre-sale seats in LA. 2 days later. Today at ticketmaster you can still get better $257 seats than I got in pre-sale for that show. I got pretty good seats and I'm not too unhappy but anybody who wants to see Neil in a nice seat in LA can still do it at face value on the internet at ticketmaster.
Managed to get 2 balcony tickets for the first Massey Hall show. $200 for the pair.
My first Neil show so I'm psyched! My wife will probably bail on me but I'm sure I can sell the other one without a problem.
Woohoo!
I'll be 26 rows back at Keller Auditorium, PDX, Oct 22. Saw Neil there in '91 I think it was. Crippling loud then. $215 or so for two tix, plus tax, etc. It's like seeing a shooting star, they only come out every so often. And I just love boneheads who criticize artists to "get off his lazy ass". Bring on your stuff, Jerk, whatchoo got that you want to undercut his validity or cred? Phlau!!
Has anybody figured out presales for Washington, DC show. Regular tickets go on sale this Friday. His website is so hard to navigate, but, the only presales there are all for other shows. Thanks.
Does anyone know who will be in neil's band forr this tour???
I was logged in to pre-sale fo D.C. tickets by 10:01 and all tickets were gone. Pre-sale is only about 10% of tickets. Since Constitution Hall seats 3700, that's only 370.
Is Neil playing solo or is he with a band. If with a band who are the players?
srsullivan@aol.com
I don't care what it costs, somebody set me up with three tickets to spokane! barney_chanyi@hotmail.com
Really loving the New Neil Young Cd
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=U2EK0P5R
I love Neil, but as Jack once said, he knows absolutely nothing about ordinary people.
Hey Neil, come to Scotland, soon .
PLEASE
The price you pay for living in Chicago...375.00 for 5th row at the Chicago Theater. BUT - it is Neil's B-Day and we are THRILLED to have this opportunity.
Neil.... Neil!?.... what's with the Montreal no-show?
I've been waiting for a long time to see you... please come to Montreal!!!!!!!
i can't believe i went to 2 neil young shows in a week and not one single person lit up a joint. and i'm disappointed that i came all the way to wasington dc and neil did not even comment on the state of this country or the world. is this the same who wrote ohio??
We took the drive from Montana to Spokane, and we were rewarded with the best concert ever! I havn't seen him play since 71' and I must say Neil about brought the house down! I've never heard such an ovation!
Thank You,
Steve and Sharon McMillan
Just thought I'd maybe luck out and get a last minute ticket for Massey Hall on Thurs. Nov.29th. Then I saw the price range! WTF? Tickets start at $740.00 and range upwards to $1,350.00! How is it that NOTHING seems to be done on the up anymore? Not only does the tour totally neglect the rest of CANADA, we poor whores can't make it when we do find the show!
Please Neil...come to Saint John New Brunswick again, I missed you when you came,
please, please...
you are my ultimate fav..There are lots of people who want to see you here.. *hugs*
Tammy
