One of the big questions about this year's Canadian Juno Awards show is whether Neil Young will participate?
A source close to author John Einarson tells Thrasher that Neil looks to be pretty much a definite for the 34th annual Juno Awards show on April 3 in Winnipeg.
According to the Winnipeg Sun, the following acts are definite:
- Tragically Hip
- Randy Bachman
- Sum 41
- k.d. lang
- Matt Dusk
More on Neil Young's hometown Winnipeg, Canada.
Thanks Bill for the tip!

On Neil's Shakey's Garage site, the "Tour" room is wiped out EXCEPT for the Juno Awards date. So, I guess that means that Neil is a sure thing for appearing there, no?

I'm writing from good ole Winterpeg, exited as anything that Neil is coming back. I'll have to get a Juno's ticket for sure, but he's only gonna play one song in all liklihood (maybe a jam with Randy Bachman?). Has anybody heard any rumours about whether or not Neil is planning any 'surprise' performaces while he's here in this great city? The Juno's do an 'artist showcase' on the Friday and Saturday nights before the Sunday awards show, but they feature 'nominees and local talent'. While Neil certainly counts as local talent, I don't think he'll be performing at a showcase (i..e, up and coming local talent, not the greatest musicians to ever call Winnipeg home!). And, he's not nominated for any awards (yet Great Big Sea is nominated for Music DVD and Bryan Adams is nominated for performer of the year - go figure...). I'm a poor student and can't afford a ticket for the awards show plus an additional 50 bucks for the two showcases, if I could afford it, I'd get tickets and hope for the best! So, if anybody has heard any rumors about Neil performing in the city, please post! Thanks a million!
