Lionel Trains Shakeup
It looks like there might be some fallout at Lionel Trains from the recent Greendale train debacle.
Lionel CEO (Bill Bracy) and Marketing VP (John Brady) were terminated by Lionel this past Monday. There's no "official" word from Lionel yet, according to Classic Toy Trains Magazine.
Naturally, this topic is being much-discussed on the O Gauge Railroading forums. One recent post, from someone claiming to have "inside" information, states that the firings were at the behest of Neil Young and Lou Kovach due to the execs' "dragging their feet" with innovations to the Train Master Command Control system, invented by Neil and his Lionetech firm.
Sadly, major layoffs seem to be in the works at Lionel, too.
This is the third executive shake-up of Lionel since the September 1995 purchase of Lionel from Richard Kughn by Wellsprings, LLC and Neil Young.
Thanks to Lou for the info!
