This is the seventh "Light Up The Blues" benefit concert in aid of the organization Autism Speaks, which aims to promote understanding and inclusion of individuals with autism and their families.
In addition to Stephen Stills and Neil Young, Billy Idol, Nathaniel Rateliff, Cat Power, Linda Perry, Rufus Wainwright, Chris Stills, Christina Applegate, and Very Special Guests. The evening will be hosted by Stills and his wife Kristen.
Neil Young will perform with The Chrome Hearts band.

Ordinary People was incredible. Didn't know if we were just going to get some version of the Chrome Hearts previous east coast performances, but this was pure passion and indignation. Brought back the "take America back!" chant from the Sanders rally, the protest song dropped in hits like "if you're a fascist, go buy a Tesla." and (paraphrasing) mentioning that it's a tough pill for Americans to swallow that China is ahead of us as far as moving toward electric vehicles (I think that was the gist, though I am at peace being corrected by any other attendees). Terrific surprise to hear Big Box - a song I would have assumed unlikely to get dug out again any time soon. But, hot damn... Ordinary People with its loping, chanting, repetitive AND expansive nature felt so fresh and alive. Didn't matter if some of the cultural references might be a bit dated to an audience largely unfamiliar with this ripper, it still felt as prescient as the rest of his set (Human Highway even got a "dedication" to Kennedy. "The new one. Not the old one." - Neil).
If this is any indication of how the world tour will shape up, it feels like a Living with War type event with NY and band laying his truth and his thoughts and feelings on American politics in 2025 out there with unapologetically and letting the audience do with that as they please.
One thing about the show. Lots of technical issues plagued most sets throughout the evening so, while I'm not sure, I wonder if NY had to cut anything from his set to abide by the local noise curfew. At the very least, Stills told Neil, before playing Rockin' in the Free World to do the "short version" - which still packed a great punch with the Chrome Hearts behind him.

It only takes one song to make it worth it, and Ordinary People was obviously the one, like the Thrasher in 2016. Just enough to make you regret not being there
Hot Damn! Spine tingley douche chills! I saw this performed ONCE in 1988 @ Jones Beach!
Wonder if this will make it to the upcoming summer setlist? Or was it just a one off? Sounded Great! I can’t imagine Micah & the boys, Spooner, learning & rehearsing and THEN Nailing this sucker AND NOT include this in the setlist…
That being said, technical issues seem to be following Neil around lately. Both shows @ Forest Hills last year had issues. I wonder if he lost some key techs?
I’d be absolutely thrilled to hear any of these songs in Dublin this summer.

Neil & Chrome Hearts bust out with Ordinary People! This has become a historic tour already. Let’s hope all the dates hold & we get to see them this summer for an Anti Oligarchy extravaganza! Now the peaceful revolution can commence with proper soundtrack! I love it!

Sounds like he took the melody of This Land is Your Land to pen a piece about the failure of Detroit's Big 3 to produce good EVs and losing the race against Chinese auto companies. Nothing really to do with the original Let's Roll, apart from both are songs about global challenges the US has faced. Not a great song, but seems to work well within the populist spirit of the set. Wished I'd gone. I passed because I found last year's show to be pretty mediocre, but this looked great. Might rethink going to the HB show in the fall.
It occurs to me that for the second time in his career, Neil has effectively stolen somebody else's band and made it his own. He took The Rockets and made Crazy Horse. And now POTR has become The Chrome Hearts. Although in the latter case, TBF, it was Lukas that pulled the plug on the band.
@ Knowledge Nomad : Lukas announced that his band was going on hiatus. He cleaned up, quit smoking and drinking. And he learned to fly a plane. He also recorded a solo album. PotR will be back.
