A new Neil Young concert on 25 June 1992, Garden State Arts Center, Holmdel, New Jersey is now streaming on Neil Young Archives as the Timeline Concert of the Moment.

From the second 1992 solo tour, the concert includes a rare performance of Cripple Creek Ferry.

This show reestablishes oxygen to the brain.

(Others of course will overlook it, simply because it’s not familiar. Such is the nature of marketing. Time is divided between catering to those fans who seek novelty, those who have a passion for a particular niche, and those who are looking for a safe, tried-and-tested experience, neatly packaged in plastic wrap for $59.99 plus postage).

But for those who seek either novelty or have a passion for experiencing Neil Young in concert, this latest timeline concert is yet another slice of heaven.

This is a lively, positively perky show from Neil’s solo tour in support of the then-unreleased Harvest Moon. All acoustic instruments, performed to an animated-but-respectful crowd at the semi-outdoor venue in Holmdel, New Jersey.

The sound mix here is like comfort food for the ears. The performance is of the ”around the campfire, but with an edge” variety. You can feel the comfortable tension between crowd and performer.
