Only 3rd performance of On The Beach since 1970's per http://sugarmtn.org/sm_song.php?song=433
OTB last played solo in 2003 Hamburg, Germany.
What a magical evening it was. Enjoyed it a lot!
On The Beach was very intense (my favorite). A sharp and extended Love to Burn. A powerful F*!#in' Up. Cortez was very wide and expanded. Roll Another Number very lazy.
What a beautiful evening!!!
What a great night yesterday.
Neil sounded strong, his voice was strong and he just kept smiling the whole night :-)
About the setlist, what can I say... we got On The Beach and Danger bird.. magic.
Fuckin up sounded great,
Are You Ready For The Country? sounded really fresh and playful..
Great, great show.
I can still not process how lucky I am. 3 years ago I was in Amsterdam when they pulled out Change Your Mind. Yesterday the same surprise happend with On The Beach... :-D
Another memorable evening , it just doesn't stop. What a joy to be part of.
Neil's singing was really free and floating around the original melody. Very nice
Made a little video of On The Beach, although it's Shakey in places. It captures the mood

Otto
First two songs (Mansion and Over and over) were kind of warm up... If played in the second part of the set they'd be killers (I missed CH on those.. Poncho... Mostly)
Old Black gave its best (for me) on Love to burn and OTB. It sounded perfectly tuned and wrappingly.
Pegi's spirit was flying high on Unknown legend. I was really moved.
On OTB I got the impression Neil changed the verse (turning positive) : I need a crowd of people... I can face them day - to day. Not quite sure. Maybe people standing front stage could help.
On AYRFTC the Nelsons played with bottleneck. Trying to give it a sound a la Ben Keith.
Would love to hear a duet Neil/Carlos Santana on OTB. I think it would work.
Have a good day!
🙏❤️

i was excited after seeing that Thurs set. I thought last night was a sort of lame honky tonk almost novelty songs show. I expected him to open it wide he seemed to joke around. for me disappointing. i mean how far can one dumb down a song
ok let me tell you about Carlos Santana. Bill Graham was his manager. Bill liked to mix it up. hed do a show with disparate music so to speak. Carlos is great guitar player but rarely does he gell with another band. He came out w Lynyrd Skynyrd under Grahams supervision. He was there at Clapton, Concord. He was there at Jeff Beck/SRV. He was there at Dave Matthews GG Park. He came out at a Buddy Guy show I saw at Fillmore 10 years ago. He came out at Grateful Dead 2 days after Bill died Oakland Colisume Arena. He never fits into the music. I was at those shows except Dave. Him and Tim Reynolds tore it up again last night. hard to follow those dudes.
