PEAK NEIL.
@ HtH - PEAK NEIL?
You want "peak Neil"??? You gotta have "Valley Neil" to have "Peak Neil".
So, we got your "Peak Neil" right here:
http://neilyoungnews.thrasherswheat.org/2006/02/peak-neil.html
Of course, ass one rustie put it:
"Neil can only be defined in terms of peaks and lows by people who can only think in linear terms. Can't you just appreciate what's happening in the present?
Why do you feel compelled to glory in the "peaks"?"
So 2019? "Valley Neil" or "Peak Neil"? chaff or wheat? make arrangements for yourself and decide...
edit - "as one rustie"
I consider Rust Never Sleeps as Neil's magnum opus, the culmination of his song writing skills. Doesn't mean that everything before or after is worse, or that every song from RNS is better than any song from any other album, though I don't think many would agree that Fork in the Road or Monsanto Years belong to his best. It's like Usain Bolt; obviously the best sprinter in the world for some time, proven by his many world and Olympic titles, though he only ran 9,58 on the 100m dash once; in 2009, which still stands as the World Record. Although dominating afterwards as well, he was never quite that fast again. RNS is Neil's 9,58.
@ Harm - "RNS is Neil's 9,58."

I was always surprised that Neil used this performance for the movie, as he butchers the lyrics in the middle. He powered through, though, and never stopped. I love love love this song. The first time I heard Thrasher was at a couple/four shows in San Francisco at the Boarding House... the "World Tour" at the Boarding House. I can't remember which two days it was..... but 4 shows in 2 days. I learned the song from a Maxell tape that got eaten by a puppy a few years later. Ah, the days before much trading and internet.
