PRESALES TUESDAY: 2019 Europe Tour of Neil Young + Promise of The Real
UPDATE:
NYA update: Presales start 2/26 at 5 p.m. CET (just over 12 hours from now) for Dresden 7/2, Berlin 7/3, Mannheim 7/5, Munich 7/6, Antwerp 7/9 and Amsterdam 7/10.
(Thanks Babbo B.!)
In January, Neil Young announced that he is planning a concert tour of Germany this summer with + Promise of The Real, per Neil Young Archives.
Then, earlier this month, an announcement that the 2019 Germany Tour has been delayed, according to a response to a Letter to the Editor on NYA Times-Contrarian: "Announcements are coming as soon as we finish checking out the sponsors and making sure they are OK with us. We notice some banks and want to see what they invest in."
Now, on NYA T-C, comes word that in July, Neil Young + Promise of the Real will perform in Dresden, Berlin, Mannheim and Munich in Germany, followed by Antwerp, Belgium and Amsterdam, Holland.
Ticket presales begin on Monday, Feb 25th on NYA.
Also, in response to another question on NYA Times-Contrarian, Neil Young is also planning a solo tour of Europe next winter: "We are looking at the possibilities of NYA solo shows in London and throughout all Europe. This has been difficult with everyone else looking for big paydays and out door festivals for me in the summer. We may just come back in the winter.
Loving our NYA solo shows, we are continuing our investigation!!"

I really hope at least one of these dates work out with when I already need to be in Europe in late June-- would be awesome to route the tail end of my trip through wherever and catch Neil abroad again!
Good thing Lukas can find time between hanging with Jimmy Buffet and J Lo. Ugh.

The waiting is the hardest part - refreshing all day (working day nearly over in Belgium Neil :-) When will we be released?
No news yet, it's 18 o'clock now in the Netherlands...
We still have a long way to go to convince our dear American friends that the earth is shaped like a globe and that day time everywhere basically is determined with the sun rising and setting... Of course Europe is not the epicentre of the universe, but concert tickets for concerts in Europe being sold to Europeans might ask for a Central European Time frame. In Munich the sun just set at 18.12 CET and the day is done.
So...no London indoor show?
Sounds like we're gonna have a chance to buy tickets only tomorrow...
So, just to be clear.
What we are waiting on are,NY & POTR European gigs, some are at festivals, and some are not,
so, some could be indoor, and some will not be, as they are outdoor festivals.
There are no solo gigs for Europe planed for this summer, but a "possibility" of this being scheduled for next winter.
A reminder to our EXTREMELY lucky U.S. & Canada friends !,
that the last time NY played full solo gigs in Europe, was Greendale in 2003.
It's already Tuesday 12 AM in Europe so announcing European Tour by American time is really genius idea. Thanks Neil!
Still afternoon in California...
we've seen it where it ends up happening the next day or middle of the night ...

Thanks for the info, Babbo B. Do you gave a link to the article itself? Some how can't find it in NYA
it's updated now, found it
I can't see any European dates on the Presale page apart from the ones announced in Uk & Ireland
Hey Dan, answer my emails please.
Thanks,
Steve
I'm not actually seeing any presales and it's 5:03pm CET, right?
Yes, it is!
It's a real first world problem that I can't buy presale tickets for my favorite musician halfway around the planet from where the shows are.
Presale started!
Can get a code for all shows except for Antwerpen.
Anyone else with the same issue??
I think I bought tickets for the seated area in Berlin. No clue. I don't speak German, but I bought 2 tickets of some sort and they were the cheaper pricing which implied it was the seated area vs the standing GA?
Doesn't actually say what seats/row in any manner. I guess it doesn't matter, in the end.
The cheaper tickets for Berlin are in the seated area. However, you won't get allocated seats, so just be early if you want to be near the front.
Would any of the archive subscribers be willing to share their code? I'd rather not spend another 20$ just for the sake of a presale code.
For the Munich concert the arena (standing only) comes at 90,90 €. Seated area tickets range between a bit more than 73,00 up to 118,00 €. That's pretty modest pricing, methinks.
@Debjay - Thanks! I just figured that out from some Googling. Now I'm debating if I should get tickets for Dresden too.

My next Neil-concert, this summer, I'll go by bike. Goede vooruitzichten!
@Pabst no problem :)
You wouldn't by any chance share your code with me?
Good old Ticketmaster, 34.90Euros postage to the United Kingdom, bargain, and Barclays Bank are considered unethical !!!!!!
Antwerp code is ok , you can use the code only one time. Love from Belgium
@debjay -- just saw this. what code did you want/need? i can share them with you if you still need them! (setting up the thing to tell me when you comment back now. my apologies for not replying sooner!)
@Pabst no worries :)
I need a code for Berlin. If you like you can email it to debjay at gmx.de
Thanks :)
The NYA page says "Code good for one time use", so I'm not sure it'll still work unfortunately. Berlin is the only code I actually used -- I decided to behave myself for Dresden, as I prefer not to get dumped by my girlfriend for turning *our* vacation into *my* vacation.
Unlike in '82, Neil is doing dates After Berlin.
If you want access to the presale you got to join NYA. It's 1.99 for a month.
Just received my physical ticket for the Berlin show. All the way from Germany to New York. Amazingly quick service from Ticketmaster in Germany. Of course, I had to pay their crazy delivery charge of €35, but it's in my hand. On the rail in Berlin should be cool. The venue "The Waldbuhne" is an amphitheater built between 1934 and 1936 for the 1936 Olympic Games. Seats more than 22,000. Lots of concert history here too with; The Stones, Bob Marley, Queen, U2, Pearl Jam, Phil Collins & others. Should be great. Now to find a good hotel and plan a city tour!
Peace ✌️
Still waiting on mine, Stills. Did they send you an email with a tracking number or anything?
I'm coming from Austin.
Does anybody know if you can print the German tickets at home to save the 35 euro delivery charge?
@Pabst -
I did receive an email from UPS with the tracking details on Feb 28 and the envelope with the ticket about 24 hours later.
Note, I do have a UPS sign-on for tracking stuff.
I did not receive an email from Ticketmaster Germany.
I'm sure it's on the way to you. You might try checking UPS - that must be who they're using for the USA.
@John - That was not an option - or I would have done that. They didn't have mobile delivery either for the Berlin show, which would have been equally fine with me.
Aside...watching the end of the Bernie Sanders Presidential kick-off on CNN.
Their playing ROCKING IN THE FREE WORLD!
Peace ✌️
The 35 euro charge for delivery is ridiculous definitely tempted for the Berlin/Dresden shows though just trying to talk myself into it!
Not to cause an argument and as a fan, not bigger or greater, more shows or less than you, doesn't anyone apart from one or two comments think the Germany Ticketmaster DE postage are disgusting ? I guess not, Neil and many people fear for the Earth and rightly so but a poster said he'd paid his 35 euros postage Berlin ticket but 3.50 from Belgium for Antwerp, however disgustly priced but he had his rail ticket in his hand and happy, a price paid. Jesus, is the NY business policy. Emailed NYA twice but nil replies but surely that's how big business treats it customers, ignore and they'll go away ..... POWERCO! I'll check with Sun Green on that one. As for being very cheesed off, err yeah but hey instead of going to Mannheim and Munich by choice I'm going to Antwerp and Amsterdam instead. Lucky me, oh yeah ! But caring, sharing better world ? If charity begins a home(British saying and maybe other places) Don't allow if you can or can stop or don't screw the people who care and care about you, Maybe just a passing thought, Mr Young and Roberts.
Hi,
In which site can I find Tickets for the Berlin and Amsterdam concerts?
Thanks,
Uriel
@Stills - I got an email from UPS on Sunday and my tickets just showed up. Sweet. Can't wait-- feels awesome to know that I get to see Neil this summer!
@Uriel - ticketmaster.de is where I got my Berlin tickets during the presale
I am not in any way related to them but eventim.de has often the better seats on offer. I think both Eventim and Ticketmaster are designated sellers for the German LiveNation-shows.
By the way, the delivery from Germany is expensive because German law does not consider a download a "worthy good". So if anything goes wrong with it, you can never bring it to the court because a case does not exist.
It's a bit old fashioned but very "gründlich".
So in Germany they must send the actual, entrance-giving, real, hardcopy ticket by controlled delivery, which is mostly UPS or DHL.
@Pabst - Great! Now, just hope we get fine weather on the day. Never been to Germany, so should be fun. Looking to arrive on the Sat. and depart on the Thursday. Need to check the hotels. See you on the rail!
@Sun Pie - Thank you for the interesting info! Never would have guessed that.
Peace ✌️
I bought tickets for Dresden and Berlin got charged 35 euros delivery for each one when the tickets arrived they were both together. I complained to ticketmaster that I should only be charged one delivery fee they refunded me one charge. Worth a try if this happened to you. Anybody going to the Berlin show should note the gig is quite far out from the centre but you can get a train there it takes about 30 mins from the main station hauptbahnhof.
I m not a member of NY site but can someone give me a link or something so I can buy 1 ticket for Neil at ZiggoDome Amsterdam on July 10?
