All of Neil Young's Song of the Day | Instagram #neilyoung2018
Recently, we've been posting on occasion Neil Young's Song of the Day via Neil Young Archives.
Since then, we've come across a handy reference which is cataloging each Neil Young Song of the Day with a photo and commentary on Instagram #neilyoung2018.
Check it out! Thanks Soldier Steve!
Also, of note, a comment on Song of the Day by Babbo B.:
Like Neil has explained, if he doesn't post a Song of the Day early enough, the system will automatically move to the next song on the album the previous song came from (hence the White Line/Fuckin' Up/Over and Over sequence from Ragged Glory earlier in the week). That's also why you might see one song in the morning and another in the afternoon, after he catches up.Babbo B., thanks, good to know.

off topic sorry. Another year without the "Fall Classic" Bridge School Benefit Show(s). Even on the years I didnt go it was a comfort knowing they were there. Sigh. Miss them.
I was lucky enough to attend the last Bridge Concert when my son moved to California. I was looking forward to many more concerts which were not to be. Can't help but thinking Neil's divorce had something to do with it. I know Neil & Peggy were coming from opposite sides of the stage during the concert. Please Neil : bring the Bridge concerts back!

This sort of sums it up. BSB 30 2016 Nils, Pegi, Mickey, I Dont Want to Talk About It https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9T3zjM3ATA
Not enough data to call it a trend, but maybe he has a strategic intent to try to replace the Bridge School shows. Last year he gave us an unexpected steam from Omemee, and this year he gave us unexpected solo shows at the Tower. I am thankful that he continues to perform.
What he is actively doing on his archives site, almost daily, is nothing short of stellar. In addition, there has been about one new "performance series" release per year since 2006 - Garland will be #11 - and they've all been exceptional releases.
Personally, I think it is unreasonable as an individual fan to ask Neil to do anything, such as bringing the Bridge shows back. Let him move on. Evaluate what he has already given and accomplished. Most of us that are his age have retired from work. He continues to work for us. Appreciate what he continues to do, while he is still here doing it. Just my opinion.
Never heard or saw ANYTHING about his Hamptons summer gig to replace Bridge $$$
Anybody?
@ Joseph - that's great that you did make the final Bridge concert. And it is sad that there doesn't seem like there will anymore similar events. Maybe other Bridge benefits but never another Bridge Weekend at The Shoreline. We feel blessed that we made a few weekends in the 90's, 00's, and '10's.
@ wsanjose01 - yep, that sums it up pretty well. In retrospect, it makes lots of sense.
@ DREman - yes, we're pretty blessed. NYA is the gift that keeps on giving.
We agree that fans can't be expecting anything of the Man other than to do his best. So we're cool with Joseph's wish and regret. Hey, we're all bummed about losing averry special thing. But folks are trying to carry along on all fronts ... Neil, Pegi, family, friends, fans. And The Kids. And The Parents. And The Teachers.
We always liked what Wilco's Jeff Tweedy said about Neil @ Musicares a few years back:
"He's right up there in terms of a constant in my musical life as an influence and as a mentor.
He's kind of just a force of nature.
And I take him for granted sometimes like I take the sun for granted ... I'm really happy the sun comes up every day and I'm happy Neil Young keeps making records."

@anon: There was actually quite a bit of advance publicity about the planned Heart of Gold Gala, including a post here (http://neilyoungnews.thrasherswheat.org/2018/04/bridge-school-1st-east-coast-heart-of.html). Unfortunately, the event was canceled for lack of ticket sales.
Its ok to ask for more Bridge School shows Joseph. He doesnt read this site and even if he did so what. The guys never had a problem saying no. Thousands of Bridge School concert fans want more shows. I had never heard of Heart of Gold Gala. But at 10k a seat I see why it failed. Donations
