Lukas Nelson: "Something I wrote about my Father that I wanted to share..."
Lukas Nelson speaks from the heart with a maturity far beyond his years.
Lukas asks us to "watch with an open heart" something he wrote for his Father, Willie Nelson that he would like to share with us.
Thank you Lukas. Thank you Willie. See you guys @ FarmAid next weekend! Keep singing truth to power.

Beautifully said, so sensible, we need more people like Lukas!
Btw - I have no clue who those candidates are or the backstory on who Willie backed or didn't back ... just think Lukas is speaking a truth that needs to be heard.
Willie's Fourth of July Picnic has ben bringing hippies, bohemians Cowboys and roughnecks together peacefully for decades. Don't let the media use you to make a mountain out of a molehill so they can increase their ratings. "Turn off the News," right on Lukas!
@ Dan - Lukas speaks a truth. Much more than a Son and Father discussion.
You can really tell how emotional this is for Lukas. And very brave too.
Yeah, we're not really following the specific candidate, issues, etc. turn off the news.
@ HTH - thanks and agree. lots of manufactured outrage. divide & conquer. folks falling into the duality trap.
if in doubt, ask questions.
Willie knows.
WWWD?
While I totally respect Lucas and his heartfelt message, and I believe that he truly believes what he is saying, let's remember that actions always speak louder than words. He says that we all need to get along, so I'm hoping that if I attend one with his shows wearing a MAGA hat, he would be okay with it. Or if I was wearing that hat and wanted to share a nice fat joint with him, he would be okay with that.
I'm hoping there is no one here who lets musicians, actors, and athletes make their political decisions for them. You can't be that foolish, right? True liberty involves thinking for yourself, it's a wonderful way to live!
I know this won't sit well with others here, but I personally think that Trump might be the best thing that's happened in this country in a long, long time. At the John McCain funeral, you had both George W Bush AND Barack Obama criticizing Trump. That tells me that Trump is actually up to something good. It's ironic that folks who oppose Trump call themselves "the resistance" when it's Trump who is actually the anti-establishment guy.
But hey, if you want Nancy Pelosi as the Speaker of the House, you know what to do in November. Yikes......
A real son of his father, who believes in his fellowmen.trying to see the good in everyone, though some may be no good.Accept that everyone has his own thoughts, opinions and feelings.No-one's the same.Thank God,we still live in a free world and may say what we feel and think, though it's not in the entire world, sadly enough.Love should rule the world, not money...True words you said,Lukas.
If you like men who sexually harass women Trumps your guy. If you like a racists trumps your guy if you like pathological liars trump is your guy
Hey Richard, I imagine Bush and Obama would agree on criticising Hitler too. Not that I am necessarily equating Trump and Hitler (although there are arguably parallels).
But the fact that establishment political opponents can agree that Trump is a dangerously divisive racist so-and-so does not therefore mean Trump must be good for America!
pls lets stay off the politics unless Neil picks the fight ... otherwise we will fall into the us vs them mentality ... music brings us together, lets build on that ... focusing on our politics = conflict
Lol
