Hello friends, if anyone has figured out how to transfer tickets for Neil's Boston shows could you please email me at RaggedGlory99@gmail.com. I have to miss the 2nd night and trying to get it into the hands of one of our TW friends who is flying in from Europe. Thanks and enjoy the mini-tour, see you in Chicago and Boston!

Thanks Dan, as you know I'm the guy (with wife) flying in for the show (hopefully)

Much appreciation to you for the considerable efforts you are going to to help me out. It's a tribute to the quality of NY fans and the the decency of people who visit this site.

I appreciate the efforts to block scalpers but we have a situation here where one fan is trying to help out another for no profit and there must be some way we can arrange that - but so far T/master and the theatre will not help - so if anyone knows what we can do - please let us know.

Too many idiots at tonight's show. I guess that's a repercussion of Neil not coming through in 11 years. All these first timers (hopefully) screaming song requests & it seemed like it got old to him. I know it did to me. 1 song encore, Tumbleweed on a ukulele. I'll be interested in the setlists of the other shows.

At 6/29/2018 01:37:00 AM, Blogger Unknown said...

Damn good show! I do wish that those screaming song requests would have refrained, as they drowned out what he was saying.

I was at the St. Louis show last night, way too many rambunctious people. Too many people yelling stupid shit, heard a woman yell “ Marry me Neil “ very short setlist, I can assume because of the yelling. He seamed lost at times. Very powerful Ohio is your gem of the evening with a bit of verbal soul searching before he started. A 6 out of 10 is my take on the whole affair. When did concerts become an audience participation event?

At 6/29/2018 02:36:00 AM, Blogger vvvv said...

Agreed with the above comments. Too many fools yelling during songs and while he was talking. That aside, was great to hear Homefires, Tonight's the Night, Speakin' Out, and There's a World!

He also did 3 from Le Noise, including Angry World on the White Falcon. Hope Chicago keeps their collective mouths shut and let him do his thing without interruption.

At 6/29/2018 02:40:00 AM, Blogger Senor said...

I plan on yelling really insipid requests at every opportunity because I am more important than everyone else trying to have a good time.

That's too bad to hear about the knuckleheads, especially if it was affecting Neil.

Some tasty nuggets in the setlist though. Homefires? That's digging DEEP into the bag of goodies!

It really was a drag because Neil came out in a great mood. He was talking to the crowd more than I'd ever seen, he drank a couple beers & was explaining that Stills gave him this particular guitar & where he was when he wrote this tune. How they went on a tequila binge after Bruce Berry & some other roadies OD'd & was just going through parts of his career & telling stories but the morons kept screaming instead of listening & finally Neil said "it doesn't even register with me" but they didn't understand that either. A few of us were saying SHUT UP because we've seen it before but it didn't help. Maybe I'm being over dramatic but it's been 11 years since I'd seen Neil & it broke my heart to see such disrespect.

At 6/29/2018 09:30:00 AM, Blogger Unknown said...

Really disturbing to hear what happened in St. Louis with all the crowd shout-outs. Saw Neil do an all acoustic set here in Chicago a number of years back and they made an announcement before the show not to call out song requests or scream while Neil was performing. Did absolutely no good. Constant interruptions by the fans really killed the mood of the show. At one point, some knucklehead screamed out "Powderfinger" and play it on "old black." Neil flipped him the bird and just kept doing his thing. Going to the show in Chicago on Saturday and I can just imagine what's going to happen in the Auditorium theater, where I'm sure the performer can hear anything that's screamed out.

At 6/29/2018 10:11:00 AM, Blogger Unknown said...

This is really disheartening to hear. I will be in Chicago Sunday for the show. Sadly, I have experienced this kind of stupidity before. When Neil played Thrasher in Chicago a few years ago a drunk dumbass screamed throughout the entire song. I am not a violent man...but a throat punch seemed very appropriate in that moment.

My wife and I drove in to see Neil last night and were bummed to hear everyone yelling song requests. That being said, from where we were sitting (row B) Neil was in really good spirits and seemed to take it all in stride. Someone close to us started yelling "Free world!!!" Neil had a funny exchange with him and had a big smile on his face the whole time. Another instance had a fan ask about the Linkvolt and Neil really lit up while talking about it.

Aside from the (hopefully) first timers the show was great. His voice was the best I've heard in a while, and I loved the song selection. Neil did seem lost at times, and was very honest about it. At one point, after meandering the stage looking for an instrument to grab his attention he said "well I've hit a stump."

The highlight for me was Ohio on the falcon after he talked about seeing the time magazine cover of the Kent State massacre, and writing that song. Gave me chills. Lots of great stories throughout the show, but that one took the cake. My wife's highlight was the encore of Tumbleweed. She loves the honesty of Storytone.

Somebody tell Neil that he needs to come and play a solo show in Toronto. We are

I thought the (much) higher ticket prices was supposed to ensure that only true fans would be attending the shows.

I agree that the highlight was Ohio and his comments preceding it. We were in the balcony and one of the rudest shout out guys was behind us. The ushers booted him, to applause from the group around that area. Ushers were trying to keep the noise down. Despite a few jerks, I thought it was a fantastic show.

The way I look at it, Neil does this rarely and I'm not going to give a few thoughtless, out of control drunks the power to steal my joy ... I'm going in expecting loudmouths but my focus will be on Neil and how I grateful I am to be able to witness this in 2018 ... how many of the great ones are still vibrant and relevant and on the top of their game today? Almost none, we're the lucky ones to have our hero out there vulnerable performing 50 years of classics in "an old ornate theatre where he soon will be playing" ... regarding the set list, i might quibble a little and say on paper I prefer the Omemee set list (War of Man, Don't Be Denied, ect) ) and hope he mixes it up a bit during this mini tour.

Cool to see Homefires on the list!

I have a 5th row pit center extra ticket (my buddy can't make it!) for Boston on the 11th - if someone would like to watch up close with me, let's figure out how to reach out!

Innaresting observation, considering the man himself seems to have no qualms about the audience!

I think Neil is used to people requesting songs by now. Especially when he wanders around stage clearly not having decided on what song he wants to play next, taking his time. Yes, some were rude, but they were by far the minority. He looked like he was enjoying himself to me.

My wife and I were at the Fox Theater Thursday night. First let me say the theater employees were very friendly and helpful in accommodating my wife who is in a wheelchair.

Now about the concert. I too heard the shout outs for song request, I have come to expect it, but don't agree with it. It is what it is. What bothered me most happened during John Hammond's performance. From where I was seated on the lower level there was a constant mummer of talking DURING his playing. Reminded me of being in a bar where the musician was there for background music to selected people. I felt bad for Mr. Hammond.

RESPECT THE MUSICIAN, RESPECT THE MUSIC, RESPECT THE MUSE.

Agree with dmayers MO. Great classic musicians like John Hammond deserve our attention and our time...just because you may not recognize the music doesn't make it any less deserving of your attention. Enjoy it will it is here...it will be gone before you know it. That being said, Neil was in fantastic voice and the show was more than I had hoped for (thank you, John). Heard some tunes I had forgotten...would definitely recommend the Solo show to everyone...looking forward to the electric tour to follow...thank you, Mr. Young.

Longtime reader here. Thanks for all you do here at TW. I was at this show on Thursday and there's a mistake in your set list. It should be "Are You Ready for the Country?" where you have "Are There Anymore Real Cowboys?".
