Neil Young Mural Celebrates Omemee’s Heritage
There is a town in North Ontario with a new mural.
A new mural painted by artist Cliff Smith in the Village of Omemee is designed to encourage the drive-through traffic along Highway 7 to stop and explore the community. It is part of the Discover Omemee initiative, which also includes new maps and signage throughout the village.

“The mural acts as a tribute to the village of Omemee,” says Laurie McCarthy, City of Kawartha Lakes Tourism Development Officer. “It highlights some of the great assets, like the Kawartha Trans Canada Trail, that attract international visitors to our region each year.”
The Discover Omemee initiative includes guitar-shaped wayfinding sights, a tribute to Omemee’s famous son musician Neil Young
Performs in Hometown Omemee, Ontario, Canada - December 2017

Here's a Tourism idea...What about a sound track trail... they could have someone sort out songs to play along or certain road or features. Say sell Map and CD.. when on this road play track 1. Add comments etc.. When i was in London museum they have a player you press a number when walking into a room and music plays from that time period. Awesome trip
Love it!
