A Birthday Tribute For Neil Young's 72nd Today, November 12th
With Neil Young's 72nd birthday today Sunday, November 12th, the Tributes are rolling in from around the world!
Tonight's The Night Because Every Night is Neil Night, here's a Global Listing of Neil Young Tributes.
Also, here is a special birthday message from a regular TW contributor, Ian.
Dear Thrasher,
I wonder if you can find a little corner for this on the Wheat?
The attached file is my personal tribute/salute to Neil Young for his 72nd birthday. Had the poster for a while; finally got around to clearing space on the wall for it, and shortly thereafter came across a neglected Canadian flag in drawer. The flag was probably a relative's vacation from souvenir decades ago, and I'm sure they never imagined it would be used in this way.
Given that I admittedly don't have a whole lot of social media going on, I didn't have a really good way of actually posting this on the site, so thought I'd try my like. If anyone's interested (and doesn't already know), the photo of Neil was taken at Oakland stadium in 1974. My assumption would be that this was the CSN@Y tour that summer, lovingly documented a few years ago in the box set supervised by Graham Nash.
Anybody else happen to have this poster?
Love and peace; birthday wishes for Neil from Eastern PA.
Thanks Ian! Nice birthday tribute. And thanks for all of your contributions here on TW over the years. Very much appreciated.
And Neil has a birthday gift to us fans coming up soon. Stay tuned for the latest message from "The Visitor".

I think "old man' Louis Acevedo was 72 when Neil was writing about him. Funny how time fades away. Neil has brought much joy and peace to his fans and educated us by his actions, involvements and lyrics. Thank you Neil, thank you Lord and thank you thrasher for keeping it all in front of us. It's an awesome ride. Happy Birthday Neil, keep it rockin' man, you still got a lot to give.

Thanks, Thrasher, for the post. And thanks to all the free-roaming souls on our highway of love.
"Looking forward, all that I can see... is good things happening to you and to me."
