Here is Part #2 of a two part podcast about Neil Young and his recordings at Indigo Ranch Studios with the resident Producer at the time, Richard Kaplan. Here Richard explains how Neil Young recorded "Will To Love" and "Trans". (Thanks Syscrusher & Babbo B.!)
Already, there is much excitement about the news that Neil Young's newest album "Hitchhiker" is due for release on 14 July 2017. (See more details, cover art, and tracklist).

You have no proof this album is actually being released. In fact your persistence in insisting that it is (if your assumption is correct) will more than likely motivate Neil to pull it from release anyway.
There is a lot of information out there
That would lead most people to believe
the record is coming out. However with Neil
anything or anything not is possible
I'm trying to contain my excitement until
there is an official release from Neil or Reprise about it. And even then I'll tread
lightly until it actually becomes available
@ Tony - thanks for the inquiry and your quest for accuracy and truth. commendable.
So here's the deal w/ proof @ TW. Over the last 20 years here @ TW, the number of retractions, corrections, etc that we've had to publish is less than a handful. As in about 3 or 4 times we recall and nothing too major. In other words, our track record for accuracy vastly exceeds that of major media like NYT, WaPo, MSNBC, etc.
So you have to have some faith in the 99.99%+ accuracy track record here @ TW.
That said, trust but verify. Always use disCERNment , as we like to say.
First, let us ask you this. Do you pursue proof w/ the major media similarly? As in, did you challenge the media on proof of WMD in Iraq? Are you challenging the media on evidence of Russian election hacking?
Are you challenging Monsanto on the safety of Roundup?
Are you challenging on topics that truly matter and not inconsequential issues like a Neil Young album?
Because if you're out there everyday challenging authority for proof and evidence of their supposed claims on terror, WMD, hacking, GMOs, gene splicing, surveillance, cancer, etc. than we'll be glad to share our "proofs of truth."
namaste
Eat that Tony! You can count on TW for truth, backed by facts and reliable. To the bank I go!
Geez, Thrash, chill. The guy was simply pointing out there's been no official word on a release that's supposedly coming in a little more than a month, which is unusual. It's a perfectly legitimate question, particularly given Neil's track record (and has nothing whatsoever to do with WMDs or Roundup).
Agreed, Babbo
I find your hostility to be quite disturbing to my simple statement. As I'm Australian, I don't spend my days seeking clarification or the need to challenge all of your political missteps and errors.
I just would like a new Neil album in my hands from the 70's, and I think this site is putting that in jeopardy.
Hey guys it's not our fault that you have Trump as President so don't take it out on your Australian Ruatie friends
Alternative facts and more alternative friends.
AND, Round Up is back on the safe list BTW.
Don't Spook the Horse or shoot the messenger
Stringman
@ Babbo B. - ok, point taken. We guess our initial read on this what some sort of insinuation that we posted fake news. So naturally we get defensive.
Sure a legitimate question but we've provided all the proof we have so what more can we do here?
We all know the ultimate proof is holding the release in your hands. This what much along the lines of the NY Archives. No one would beleibve it weas comign out until they held it. Even Neil himself & AG saying daya after day it was coming folks were still in doubt (including us as well).
@ Tony - nothing hostile here, mate. At the time of us skimming your comment, it seemed to lack sincerity. If you sincerely are looking for proof, than apologies. As we said, we don't take inferences regarding our integrity lightly around here. You asked for proof and we've shared the facts as reported regarding art, track lists, engineering, etc.
We report, you decide, as always. DieCERNment, our friend, dieCERNment.
Not sure what being Australian has anything to do with this. Last we checked, AUS is part of "The 5 Eyes".
So how is any of this creating any "jeopardy"? Please elaborate.
@ Stringman - hey, it's been awhile. Thanks for dropping by although sorry this all on such a sour note here. Where've you been on some of our other recent sabbatical postings of late? Come back and try again on another day.
In rust we tRUST... (connect the dots) ...
The Messenger
ps - say hi to Stringwoman, too!
What is it with disCERNment / dieCERNment? You are saying that an awful lot lately.... Are you quoting a Quentin Tarantino movie or something??? Or a hidden message to someone? :-)
Always getting lost in Wheat, Thrasher.
We are in between drinks (i.e. Neil shows/albums) so it's always quiet and the natives get restless
Stringgirl says Hi
Here's looking forward to the Archives on the Web
@ Lone Red Rider - good catch. a typo and no hidden agenda.
But you're on the right track w/ CERN. Check out what that operation is all about. That's the rabbit hole that really goes deep ... way deep.
Go ask Alice... we think she'll know ...
@ Stringman - better lost in the Wheat than the Chaff, our friend.
Yeah, slack time tends towards danger hour. So have another round on us w/ Stringgirl in the meanwhile cause the hour is getting late...
While lost in the screen world, we always remember that bumper sticker that says: "Real life is better!"
And how about that electric "Natural Beauty" we posted the other day?! Is that not pricele$$ ???
You’re just an attention seeker, and a very poor one at that. The fact you haven’t apologised is not surprising. I used to tune into this website, and even gave you an interview with Ralph Molina in 2013 (an actual factual article….well done).
I work in advertising, I know click bait. I know poor editorial. I know how hard it is for you to justify this website. Please spare us from the American bullshit, and how pathetic your politics are. Try to just provide fans with a nice environment.
Tony, I don't want this to seem negative but Thrasher has 20 years invested in this site & he's earned the right to provide visitors to it with what he chooses. If you, me or anyone is troubled by the site you, me or anyone should stop coming here. If you get another Neil site going I promise to be a regular but can you imagine how much time it would take out of every week of every month of every year? I may not agree with every word Thrasher prints but I have nothing but respect & appreciation for what he's done here. Thanks
I echo what PL Doc said and have always found thrash/thrashette and this site to be a nice communal escape from the real world. Sure, every now and then I find a few misplaced political notes being played, but that could also be said about our musical hero too.
We all have to keep strumming and keep speaking out, because:
"there's very few of us left my friend
from the days that used to be"
so as always,
"Take my advice
don't listen to me"
but keep checking in and sharing here from time to time...
