Another new concert date has been added!
Neil Young + Promise Of The Real will perform a concert in Tucson, Arizona on Oct. 6.
Pre-sale tickets go on sale on Wednesday, Aug 10.
These concerts are warm ups for the big Desert Trip Festival in October when Neil Young + Promise Of The Real will open for Paul McCartney.

It was a longshot due to proximity rules in most festival contracts, but I was hoping for a Thursday night warm-up in Southern California that would be drivable from LA. Oh well!

You're lucky! seriously. Unfortunately, I got nothing! tried three times. Guess I'll wait for the General Sale on Sat.
That's a very cool performance venue, about 5,000 seats. Combined with the amazing October weather--always my favorite time to be in Tucson--it should be a night to remember. And if they still have two dollar Coronas at the Casino, stop in before the show! I've been there a couple times to have a beer and do lots of people watching, especially at the Blackjack and Poker tables. Good times and great memories.
Neil and POTR should overnight up in the Foothills. My recommendation and favorite is Westward Look, the original Tucson resort hotel. Neil can park his bus and relax in comfort, while the band spends a restful night in their rooms. Then everyone can have a swim and a great breakfast on the beautiful veranda before travelling on.
Hopefully Neil and POTR will perform Roger and Out for Gabe Zimmerman and the other victims of the Gabby Giffords shooting, and for Retired Colonel Bill Badger, who stopped all the madness when he tackled the shooter. Bill passed away last year; from what I've read, he was a true American Hero. Thank you, Sir!
Here's a doozey story. I ordered 3 tix this a.m. and after I hit "Place Order", a message came up saying something or other about how it was misdirected, so I assumed it didn't go through, especially since I was at work, and wasn't sure if that was an issue. Dammit! So I try and again, go all the way through...same thing. I did this 4 times. My bank notifies me that my card has had some "unusual activity" and shut it down. I look at my bank statement and see $1,200+ in concert tix charges! Yikes! So I call the Ticket agency, leave a message and tell them that I'm not sure if I got tickets and about the charges and to please call me back. A fellow named Jason calls me and tells me I've ordered 12 tickets! (3 at a time x 4 attempts!) So it DID work! Whew.
Then he asked me if I wanted all 12. I only needed 3. I thought about Desert Trip and all of the scam artists who bought up banks of tickets leaving schlubs like me (and many of you I assume) in the cold. So I said no...release them to the loyal Neil fans who were trying for tickets like I was. I apologized for the issues I had created though my frenzied attempts to see my idol. Jason was very gracious and said he understood.
Listen, I'm a 60 year old teacher in Tucson who got goosebumps when I saw he was coming to the Old Pueblo. It has been 30 years since he's performed here the "3rd Best Garage Band in the World tour" w/ Crazy Horse...it was the first time I met him on his birthday at the Viscount Suites Inn in November of 1986. I bought him his favorite drink (or so I thought) a "Salty Dog" grapefruit and tequila with some hot tea on the side as he had lost his voice in New Mexico a few nights earlier. He was gracious and seemed surprised that I knew it was his birthday. My friend and I had printed some shirts for the occasion of his show "Everybody Knows This is Tucson" and gave it to him...Elliot wanted to be sure I wasn't going to sell them at the show. No way. Never rip off the man who has given me so much pleasure and joy through many ups and down over 5 decades, and done so much for so many for so long.

@Chris - Thanks Chris. Great story and glad you didn't end up with 12 extra tickets. If that had been TicketMaster, you probably would have been screwed. Always nice to hear good customer service is being offered on non-TicketMaster sites. Power to the People.

I was able to pick up one for the pit today without any problem. Just checked again and there still seems to be plenty left. But, rooms at the casino are going fast. Coming in from the east coast, so I'm gonna make a mini vacation out of it and see some of the local sites. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks! EARTH!
Stills - if you can get a car, drive to Bisbee, the Chiracahua Mtns, and other areas in SE AZ. Early Oct can still be hot in Tucson, but the nearby mountains are cool and pleasant. The closest is Mt Lemmon, which is 8000+ ft elev, and only an hour from Tucson.
Thanks David! Yes, I was thinking about hiring a car, taking some photographs and enjoying Mother Earth. Sounds like a plan! This is gonna be great. Last time I saw Neil & POTR was July 2015 at Jones Beach here on Long Island. Getting psyched! I'm still examining my best options for transport. Probably, best via air with a layover in Denver. But, going to look into train or bus as I've never done a long journey by either and it might be fun. Hope to meet a lot of new Neil fans out there! Thanks and bye for now! EARTH!
We were going to look at going to the Boise, Idaho concert, however, the drive is almost 12 hours one way from our home in the mountains of British Columbia. So, when I saw the pre-sale information on this site,I went on-line and got two seats, seventh row, center section in Tucson.
Much happier to see Neil in a 5,000 seat amphitheater rather than with 100.000 of our closest friends in the desert dirt two nights later.
Flight costs out of Calgary to Phoenix are less than flying to Boise.
Booked a room at the casino for Tuesday to Saturday and will do a day or so in Phoenix and head home for Canadian Thanksgiving dinner on October 10th.
Does anybody know of a non-interstate drive from Phoenix to Tucson?
Tickets available for Jackson Browne on Friday October 7th at the Fox Theater in Tucson as well.
We saw Neil and POTR October 2015 in Missoula, Montana and in Spokane, Washington on consecutive nights.
Was impressed with the energy from Neil and the band. I think they have only gotten better playing through Europe on onwards.
Looking forward to the Arizona sun.

Highway 79 through Florence is more interesting than the freeway, but it is still not that scenic.

Just checked the ticket availability and there seems to be very little left! The Pit and the better seats are gone. Also, the Casino Del Sol hotel looks to be booked out.
Hopefully, there will be a lot of Neil fans hanging out at the hotel in the days leading up to the show. Looking forward to meeting up with "Wheat Thrashers" from all over the EARTH!
