Thanks TW for the advice, truth to power ? Please explain that statement. I've got lost on the Neil Young highway of what's real and authentic. It's nonsense.
Well Andy, so much for your comment TW coming down hard on you. It was a mess of an interview, and it's because the interviewer was awful. Best response from Neil was when the bloke went on and on and on,and finally asked the question, and Neil said, you already answered it. 34 minutes of what is real and authentic? Maybe Neil should have had Peomise of the Real do the interview.
Old interview, seen it before elsewhere. didn't think much of it then or now. Neil. being. Neil.
Boy, you guys are tough- :). I also heard this interview before, and enjoyed it then, as now. It seems like two guys having a relaxed conversation, with sincere questions being asked in a sincere way, with plenty of room for Neil to breath and speak his mind in random ways, like any one of us might do when talking with each other. I mean, if it was supposed to be a narrowly prescribed q & a session, relative to a narrowly defined topic, that's one thing, but the interviewer seems to have done his research and Neil seems to be responding in kind, and I for one learned some things in the process. Seems pretty harmless to me.

We don't pay too much to non-specific, vague criticisms. Maybe if someone cited a specific comment with the minute/second time code, we'd find something legitimate here.
Given that there's no specifics as to why this is all unremarkable, we'll just assume that the doubters didn't even watch the interview.
Actually, we think Neil was profound and spot on when he says that someday folks will look back upon this era as the "Dark Ages". Moments like this make us hope so.

Gee, Thrash, what's the last movie you went to that you didn't particularly care for? Oh, and what was the time stamp for the specific frame that determined you disliked it? Ah, I bet you didn't even watch it.
I watched this interview last night and enjoyed it. Up till then no comments had been added. I wondered who would be first to push a turd through Mr Thrasher's letter box. AW or DH? And the winner is....truly pathetic.
Glad I didn't disappoint you. Not really a turd but a genuine comment just because you don't agree doesn't make it invalid. TW has always been open to polite comments so there's no need for you to take exception to some structured comments. In the world of rose tinted NY fans he can do no wrong, I'm happy with that but let's not all fall into the mess. As I've said before this has much to do with Ms Hannah.

i wonder what was on neil's mind that distracted him during the show? maybe all those ugly tie dyed shirts in the front rows??
@guys - so cycle through periods like this especially as we enter quiet periods between tours, albums, etc.
Everyone knows we allow negative comments on TW. All we've ever said that if you want to criticize, try and be specific. What quotes did you find troubling and why? It's not that hard to do legitimate criticism. But no one has time for shallow, vapid, trolling, empty criticism.
And this cuts both ways. We find it annoying when folks come here gushing about how wonderful Neil is, again, without specifics.
And yes, we can cite specific scenes and dialog that we love or find troubling. maybe we'll dig up some links of our film criticism.
Either walk like a giant or float like a leaf. the choice is yours.
Just can't please all of the people,I personally found the interview very interesting;to hear Neil's views and comments.
I enjoyed the interview. Always nice to hear Neil's thoughts and watch his expressions. I guess every interviewer is banned from asking him anything personal. It would be nice to hear some of his feelings about his former band Mates, friends and family instead of the constant environmental clinical lectures. @andywalters I agree with you about pono. The player sucks. Luckily I sold mine on eBay for what I paid. I now have the Tidal app on my phone and working my way through the Archives. No diff.
