Cyclebrarian got the L.A. they hoped/predicted, Congrats!
LA! How amazing it was... The much older people next to me were very skeptical when I said it hadn't been played in 42 years. They thought it was a new song! Then later when he graced us with Vampire Blues, a man angrily thought it was another Monsanto song.
Fantastic show. But wow, if only a few of those Monsanto songs were replaced with non-Monsanto songs! They were all much better than the album versions in my opinion but still pretty groan-inducing.
One of the greatest shows of my life. We were right up front, about 12 feet from Neil. I'll never get over it.
What an amazing show! Yes, hearing LA live was a dream come true. What's clear is this tour is for and by Rusties, those who know and love the deep catalog. That clearly includes the boys in POTR. In addition to basking in the joy of the music itself, I enjoyed following the long thread of commitment to environmental causes generally and agricultural concerns specifically that span Neil's career and were so well reflected in the spectacular setlist.
I felt like there was also a mini-theme running through HBTT, OOTW, FHTH and Human Highway emphasizing the fragility not just of mother nature as the other songs highlight, but of human relationships. Similar to what he was expressing in Storytone, but with much better songs :).
Vampire Blues is another of my favorite deep cuts, so it was of course so wonderful to hear that played.
Finally, hearing one of the Nelson boys (afraid I don't know which is which) sing September Song just sent chills up and down my spine. Beautiful, haunting rendition.
Of all of Neil's shows I've seen, this one rivals Cow Palace 1986 as my favorite.
Thanks Knowledge Nomad. That's saying a lot to rival Cow Palace 1986.

Most fun Ive had at a Neil show yet, the audience was pretty good, sound was on, band was hitting it, just GREAT. first social distrortion show w neil since 1990? i actually enjoyed them, must be getting old
Lukaa played September song. Micah is the other brother. Both cute and talented in their own ways. I love those boys and what they have brought out in Neil.
