Gigs For The Gulf
Tomorrow marks the 1 year anniversary of the Gulf of Mexico oil gusher disaster/holocaust.
4/20 will always be remembered as the 9/11 of the Gulf.
Over the past year, we here at Thrasher's Wheat have been trying to connect musicians with the cause of supporting those impacted by the devastating impacts of oil in the water. We've worked with coordinating nearly 100 music concerts during this time raising thousands and thousands of dollars for groups helping the People, Wildlife & the Environment of the Gulf region.
Tomorrow, around the world will be GUITARS FOR THE GULF/SOLUTION TO POLLUTION CONCERT | THE SOLUTION TO POLLUTION IS THE PEOPLE. We urge everyone to try and make a difference.

Thanks to Jeff Taylor of Neil Young Tribute for G4G logo design!

GOT OIL
Got oil
Spilling from the ocean floor
Got lava, smoke and ash
Rising through an arctic door
Got spoils
Pilling up the landscape more
When will we ever learn
When will the fire cease to burn
There's civic unrest
Runnin' down the city streets
We got score pads and refs
We're looking for the team to beat
And have we passed the test
Of knowing where the rivers meet
When will we ever learn
When will the fire cease to burn
Politicians talk
Acting like they know the game
Demonstraters walk
Screaming they don't want the same
And casualties come home
Drowning in the blood-soaked rain
When will we ever learn
When will the fire cease to burn
They speak of outer space
Being our new frontier
I hope it's not the case
There's nothing left for us here
Time to make one thing
perfectly clear
When will we ever learn
When will the fire cease to burn
When will we ever learn
When will the fire cease to burn

Thanks SONY!
Well put.
So, have you recorded this one??
I have.
It has languished unfortuneately on the recorder now since last May as I have worked on others. It didn't make the 'band' cuts, so it'll have to be part of the solo project which is forthcoming. Maybe not too far off. It had an 'Ohio' urgency to me at the time of the writing, but alas, the job, the wife, the kids, and the...
Sony, I like the "got lava, smoke, and ash rising through an arctic door...."
Looking forward to hearing the melody whenever you get around to it. (You're not Gil, are you?)
What else is there if not the job, wife and kids?
No Momma I'm not Gil. Just a Jay-bird.
The 'natural' disasters are blowing down tornado alley. The rest regretably the greedy hand of mankind.
