  1. Thanks so much Neil & the CH boys!
Thanks Neil for releasing these movie nights, what about enabling a download option?
Great to see Neil close-ups and CH playing together with Nils on vocals and struggles with the bird-board!!!

  2. Thanks Roberto. yep, Nils and the DangerBird Board got it together!

And looks like another new Crazy Horse album coming again someday ?!

  3. Roberto, I don't think they want to enable a download option for videos at NYA
Anyway, if you crawl around the net, you find a lot of solutions for capturing the videos while they're playing. NYA videos are only for paying subscribers, so of course I dont see anything wrong if people are recording them for their own private collection.

  4. maybe we'll get another crazy horse album! and maybe thrasher will act like a fuckin' man and apologize to me for calling me a "paid Monsanto shill".

  5. This regular schedule at the Hearse Theater has been great! I'd been listening to this 2nd Winnipeg show a few weeks and it was nice to finally watch it, I missed it live.

This set really got me appreciating the slower Horse tunes: 'Losing End', 'Danger Bird'
especially 'Wonderin' (Did CH play this in the early days before the Shocking Pinks recording?).
They also seem to match the vibe on Milky Way I think.

  6. After watching the London acoustic set a few days ago where Neil was just completely in the zone, I was really shocked to hear the difference in Winnipeg last night. He was really struggling to get the guitar to cooperate and his grasp of each song felt shaky, and not in a good way. Then Crazy Horse comes out and to my ears it was a complete train wreck vocally. I know that the tour was billed as “no Rehearsal Tour “, but they just sounded ragged, without any glory. I found it most disappointing to say the least.

The two exceptions were Cortez and Like a Hurricane, but even they have been played better. Perhaps it was best that Neil cancelled the upcoming tour in favor of catching up on his films because what I witnessed last night was by far the worst Crazy Horse performance I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen plenty.

    Peace

  7. @Romat73: Wonderin' was played 10 times with the Horse during the 1970 tour, according to Sugar Mountain (and debuted at Woodstock with a Stills/Young duo version following their take on Mr. Soul).

  8. @Romat73 - You can listen to Wonderin' with the Horse by going thru the file cabinet. Scroll to 03/07/1970...

  9. Thanks for your feedback and more comments.
Indeed, this was less smooth than the London solo acustic, but that's Neil, isn't it?
I admit (?!?) I love Danger bird and War of men from this show as well as I dig Wonderin'.
But most of all I do love Neil and Nils playing together .. comraderie, isn't it?

  10. @ Biteme - ok, prove that you're not a "paid Monsanto shill". How about we offer a guest post here on TW. you can rant away at the evil Monsanto. but if you don't reply, then we'll just have to assume we were over target.

@ romat73 - enjoed Danger Bird. Looks like folks have you covered on 'Wonderin' (

@ Dan - well, as you say, the tour was billed as “no Rehearsal Tour “. and it does show. who knows about the Fall tour?

sure would like to see those guys again someday, tho.

Babbo B. - Wonderin' debuted at Woodstock ?! how about that. the things one forgets, remembers, forgets again...

@ Roberto - yeah, the camaraderie of The Horse!

  11. challenge accepted. but then again, how do I prove anything to you? I already called Monsanto evil. I already said roundup causes cancer. I already told you I was a gardener at one point, and convinced my supervisors to stop spraying that shit everywhere and get rid of weeds the old fashioned way.

what exactly do you want from me, thrasher? do you even REMEMBER how this all started? it was YOU calling me a "paid shill" based on a smarmy, sarcastic post I made about how only 12 people bought "the Monsanto years." well, joke's on ME, buddy, 'cause I have that record! and I went to 2 of the shows! remember reverend billy? remember the pono stand, where you could check out the pono player? remember the shtick during the show where the stage and seeds got "sprayed" by chemicals? I do, because I WAS THERE. I've been a fuckin' neil young fan for over 30 years, and I don't take kindly to folks like you calling me a "paid shill" simply because I voice an opinion, or make a smart ass comment. I've been to 5 farm aids. I've been to 10 bridge concerts. I've supported neil and his causes, and will continue to do so.

you need to take a long hard look in the mirror, thrasher. when you start lashing out at people and labeling them based on...well, based on what exactly? what made you call me a "paid Monsanto shill" in the first place. where's YOUR evidence, dude? what you got??

  14. Dan,
I was at the Winnipeg show in the first few rows. I didn't feel it was an epic show like I felt at Bakersfield in '18 however Neil and the Horse are rare and beautiful every time. The show was strange in that everyone was sitting down even during Crazy Horse. The venue was some kind of high class opera venue and the audience was mostly local Canadians, very polite and well behaved. It was painful to not be able to dance during the performance and I questioned whether that colored my perception of the show. Neil on the archives wrote glowingly about how he and the band felt about the show, so I was further confused. I watched it yesterday and I'd say middle of the road show which doesn't blow me away, however given how rare the Horse sightings have been I'll take it any day.

  15. To Bite Me, Maybe what you say is true, maybe not but it would be easier to believe if you didn't become Bite Me in August 2017. Who were you before that? Johnny Utensils? Just saying.
