A new  Timeline Concert of the Moment is now streaming on NYA. (Thanks Jim!)

The latest Timeline Concert is Neil Young w/ The International Harvesters @ Minnesota State Fair, St. Paul, Minnesota, on Sept 1, 1985.

w/ Hargus "Pig"  Robbins on piano

This recording contains the legendary "Down By The River" as witnessed by Jim McKelvey, who ranks this version of DBTR as "the greatest" due to the interplay with pianist Hargus "Pig"  Robbins.  (Also, see Farm Aid Memories: 1985 Pine Knob Music Theater (Detroit) by Jim McKelvey with more thoughts on Hargus "Pig"  Robbins.)

    1. Not thrilled about Harvest Moon in ORS 6. Bought 2 standalone vinyls in the last couple years (RSD release & the clear - b/c RSD was flawed press).
Unplugged? Okay, I guess? Kinda been there, done that in a few different versions.
If ORS 6 will also mean stand alone releases, that’s cool. Sleeps w/Angels & Mirrorball on vinyl! (and, maybe, live releases of each?)
      Yes, please!

  2. It was such an honor to cover Farm Aid as it formed and if it wasn't for Neil Young I never would have gotten the opportunity. I think I was given about six hours notice that I'd get a byline on a front page piece on Farm Aid but I didn't tell my parents. Honestly, like having my recent book selected to be in the Library of Congress, I didn't believe it at first. My parents used to help me sometimes with my Detroit Free Press paper route (90 weekday and 140 Sunday papers) so it was really something for them to see my name on a front page feature about Willie Nelson.

As far as I'm concerned you aren't done with Vol. 3 until you have heard "Down By The River" with Hargus "Pig" Robbins. Incredible that song (and the rest of the amazing show) are left off Vol. 3. So glad to hear those songs again after all these years.

Neil said he couldn't put "Down By The River" on the Treasure because it would have overshadowed the whole thing and I agree. However, it should have been on Vol. 3.

At 8:50 into this he starts talking about Hargus...
