Neil Young's long awaited Archives Volume 3 is coming!
His latest prediction for release is "mid 2024", and if he keeps to that, an official announcement should be coming fairly soon. But what exactly can we expect to be included in it?
Well, Neil has made a number of statements over the last couple of years. But his most detailed announcement was in a Zoom call with Patron members of the Neil Young Archives (neilyoungarchives.com) in November last year.

Touch The Night! My other favorite Neil Young moter vehicle collision song! And how he walked away without a scratch…. ?!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I will get the CD version unless I get rich quick. I can watch the films / videos on NYA. Road of plenty, indeed!
Your Brother Alan in Seattle
“Keep walkin’ with the beat, if it’s not too slow.” That’s my approach to the future. In other words, stay in tune with the moment. Life is rhythmic, cyclical, seasonal. If you can get strongly attuned to that beat, you won’t go too slow or fast.
ReplyDeleteThat's an impressive piece of work by Mr Broadfoot, pulling it all together and laying it out. Well done sir!
ReplyDeleteWill be interesting to see how what finally gets released matches up. Lots in there to look forward to. I'm hoping a version of Sad Movies makes Neil's final cut - one of my favourite remaining unreleased tracks (of the ones I know of).
Presumably Across The Water will include Like a Hurricane which was surprisingly not included on Odeon Budokan - this would be another highlight for me.
I am also looking forward to early versions of material from Comes A Time and Old Ways.
Bring it on!
Don't spook NYA :-). I'm sure there is a whole lot we haven't quite worked out. Hopefully in 2 months we will have more of the picture in hand.
ReplyDeleteMy concern with v3 is that I will end up purchasing content that I have already bought,or am planning to buy in the immediate future. Neil's prolific dropping of releases, unfortunately leaves one sceptical about purchasing the stand alone records. I got burned on v1, and I don't want to spend money to own something twice, just because it's got a new, different colored bow on it.
