In a comment, Ken N. said that adding up all the discs for 2021, came to about 31?! However you add this up, it's 100's of unreleased tracks, songs, versions coming our way.
As they say, "the best is yet to come" ... lucky us.

Feeling overwhelmed by the bounty? This should help ...

Thanks Trasher for this update of upcoming project.
ReplyDeleteI've also collected these information :
- the date for Carnegie Hall Bootleg is 7 may 2021 (see Surfer Shack page), no mention for the five other bootlegs
- Road of Plenty should be released in 2021
- in a letter, NY said one of Catalyst 1984 shows will be included in Archives Vol 3. They have apparently a movie recording.
- Alchemy must be released on 29th of october 2021
- Dume could be a specific release
- NY promised some releases from the Weld tour in 1991...
- there was also a project with the 2018 shows in Philadelphia (Tower Theatre)
It's sure we won't get all this stuff in the next 2 years but I'm more confident than usual. For instance, we have more information today on Archives Vol 3 that we get about Vol 2 before its release...
And if Way Down To The Rust Bucket and Shakespeare were promised for the end on 2020, they will arrive very soon with just a few months delay...
I am happy to be a NY fan.
I too am very happy to be a NY fan. Given that Neil and Geffen kissed and made up it's a shame that the Geffen years albums are going to be missing from the ORS reissues though....
ReplyDeleteI'm not one for looking a gift horse in the mouth (pun intended), but I can't help but think that the sheer volume of output coming our way has quite a lot to do with the fact that, like all of us, Neil hasn't been able to get out much lately! Not being able to tour, and in attempting to avoid cabin fever, (and keep some income coming in) has possibly encouraged Neil to take his own "Journey through the past". Personally, I can't wait!
Thanks for the rundown...what about the 1976 concert tour video footage...sometimes referred to as yesteryear of the horse.
ReplyDeleteI counted 31 CDs for 2021.
ReplyDelete2022 is so non-specific at this point as to frustrate counting.
But if NYA volume 3 is a reality for 2022, then ball parking should start at around 20+.
As long as Reprise delivers, everybody's going to be saying that music is love.
@ Phil - and thank you for the update here. it takes a village of rusties to try and keep straight on all of the developments.
ReplyDelete@ Old Black s- a silver lining, to say the least.
@ Arcwels - hmmm, well, throw another log on the fire!
Yesteryears of the Horse!
@ Ken N. - oops, so you did. updated. thanks for correction and apologies on mis-quote.
Hi all, I almost don't want to ask the following, as I don't want to unleash a potential stream of posts from people which may be construed as negative, as I know Thrasher had had enough of them with the box set fiasco, but here goes.... I read here recently about folks receiving their NYA vol 2 certificates, and I haven't yet. Has anybody had theirs who ordered from the UK greedy hand? I'm not out to get the UK greedy hand, I just wondered, because if no-one has then obviously they haven't been issued yet, but if people have then maybe mine has got lost in the post etc etc. Thrasher, I'm sorry! I just had to ask!
ReplyDelete@ Old Black -no apologies necessary.
ReplyDeletethat's what TW is here for to help rusties help rusties. that is truly the wheat.
we have objected to some of the previous complaints - while legit - were a bit mis-directed.
hope you're able to get your Cert and the GH has turned a corner.
I'm just taking these titles, one release at a time. I've been a Neil Young fan for far too long to expect anything but the unexpected. Let em' fly Neil, I'm here waiting patiently .... one releases at a time..... Everything listed has been on my radar for a long time, so open up the barn doors and let this stuff be received with joy & thankfulness.
ReplyDeletePeace 🙏
@Old Black: I have received my certificate from UK store this tuesday... I'm living in Belgium...
ReplyDeletePhil, thanks for that, I'll keep an eye open for the postman! Cheers!
