  1. Looking at the venue in VA the resale market is in full swing there with decent seats for other shows going for between $700 and $1,000 per seat. The NY/CH is not in the line-up there yet but that might be a good thing.

Hope being a member of NYA gives us a shot before the resale market steals them for personnel gain.

  2. Thanks Jim.

fyi, as of 1030 A EST, NYA does not have tickets posted

    ReplyDelete
  3. There are no tickets for sale and no word on the archives. Clearly the 7am
    ticket message part is incorrect.

  4. right Boulderite. Looks like San Diego Union-Tribune f'd up on this.

    stay tuned

  5. Hello. I wrote the story you have posted on your website. The embargo time to announce the tour was changed from 6 a.m. today to 9 a.m. after my story had been filed, edited and scheduled, which is why the pre-sale link has not gone live yet. Due to miscommunication between my editor and I, the story did not get rescheduled to post at 9 a.m. and instead posted at the originally planned 6 a.m. time. We have taken the story down (if you click on the link, you will get a message that the story doesn't exist, and it doesn't except on your page). My sincere apologies to all for the confusion and the error.

  6. I am pondering what to do about Jazzfest. I don't have tickets yet, but I do already have plans to go there and meet with friends for the show. But, then Neil says in a recent letter he will cancel if he can't cover up the Shell logo during his set. I mean, I get the idea, but this just seems silly at this point. How does his team not vet these things before they commit, knowing what his stance is on such matters? I dunno, I guess I'll still end up going to the show if he cancels because it's Jazzfest and there will be other great performers, but pulling out seems like empty symbolism on Neil's part.

  7. When will the link to the pre-sale be live?

    ReplyDelete
  8. @ George V - thank you very much for the clarifications here. Sorry to be harsh.

As you may know, the whole subject of Neil Young concert tickets is a highly volatile subject in this community. We also try to be as accurate as possible here @ Thrashers Wheat.

Everyone, please take a deep breath.

  9. And the link is up on NYA:

  10. So the "get code" in the ticket section of NYA hasn't gone live? Looks like some venues are doing the pre-sale in a few minutes.

The contact use page when you send gives you a "Failure: Your message failed to send. Try again.:

    Very confusing...

    ReplyDelete
  11. the archives site seems to be not working

    ReplyDelete
  12. Anyone able to get the Code? Just says contact support when I click.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Woot! Got them! Must just be taking along time to load given the site traffic. Good Luck all!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Anyone stuck in the Lobby on Live Nation? Any remedy?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Detroit (Clarkston) and Toronto it is.

    ReplyDelete
  16. As of 1:45pm EST, nothing seems to be working. First i can get through on work computer, which is my problem. Tried my phone which forced me into he app. Loaded the app then it wouldn't log me in. Finally in the app and ticket Icon does not function. Trying to get tickets for Toronto but not hopeful about prices.

    ReplyDelete
  17. They said, in the e.mail maybe, that the code will only work on Desktop not through the app. GL!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Oh well will try another time I guess...tried direct through Ticketmaster and they don't even list today's NYA presale....

    ReplyDelete
  19. I had no problems getting code or getting in to buy tickets at 12:55 central time. I looked at Nashville where general admission in the pit is available for $210 if you're young enough to stand. Front row is available if you'll pay $900 a seat. Cheapest seat is $118

    ReplyDelete
  20. scored 2nd row for Bristow - took 45 minutes of persistence

maybe I can meet up with you, Thrasher to have a beer & mend fences

did not expect this would happen today - what a gift

    ReplyDelete
  21. I used the NYA code and got tix in the PIT in Camden for $205 each + ticket master fees. Thank you Neil, for making these tickets accessible to your core fan base.

    ReplyDelete
  22. The worst seats in Bridgeport -- and they really are the worst, as I've sat in them -- are $113. Even sitting straight back was $200.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Got the code about 20 min. ago and got tix for the NYC show ($100/ticket plus fees). Great venue, even if you're upstairs, as I'll be, and will have to deal with bleachers.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Just got tickets for the Camden show but did not see where I could opt in for a copy of the FU##IN' UP CD. Did anyone else have this problem?

    Keith

    ReplyDelete
  25. I was blessed to get tix for Chicago but I saw no link or offer for the CD.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Got Camden and Forest Hills, PIT GA, anyone know what time do you have to show up to be center rail? Feeling blessed!

    ReplyDelete
  27. You guys over there are lucky. Are all of these venues outdoors? If so I do not see a European tour this summer. Neil Young answered a letter by someone from the Gulf Islands in BC assuring that the tour will cover that end of North America as well. So my guess is that after a break there will be second leg taking care of the Northwest later in the summer. With the date in September and Farm Aid I do not see how a European tour would fit in, especially not during the fall in outdoor venues north of the Mediterranean regions.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Where is the BC date that Neil said would be announced in a week or so..?

    ReplyDelete
  29. This comment has been removed by the author.

  30. Dionys, These are not all outdoor venues. I could be wrong but I believe Nashville & Huntsville are indoor.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Bought my San Diego tix on NYA no problem.

Fish Tacos! Finally going back to my Alma mater, SDSU!

Last time I was at that venue was for Stevie Ray Vaughan in 1988.

I also saw Jerry Garcia Band with Bob Weir there and George Thorogood from front row!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I got a job in college at the SDSU Open Air Ampitheater, as it was called back then. Saw Oingo Boingo, Steel Pulse, Moody Blues, &
others… When Jimmy Buffett came to play, there were women throwing up in the aisles from too much “wasting away in margaritaville!” Of the hundreds of shows I have attended, including 40 Grateful Dead shows, I never saw people puke like at Jimmy Buffett!

Anyway, I hope you all get to see a show with Neil & Crazy Horse!

My wife encouraged me to go to this San Diego show. Airline tix are not too expensive. I never fly anywhere, haven’t been to my home state of California since 2011 when we took our kiddos to Disneyland. I’m am excited to hit night 2. I figured they might work out the kinks, shake off some Rust at that first show.

    Smell the Horse!

  33. Member presales are the best! Got lawn tix in Austin all set.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Freaked out when I missed the pre-sale news and on-sale time but still managed to snag a couple of NYA member tix for Bridgeport this morning. Got "cheap" seats at $500-ish for the pair but should be a good view as slightly elevated from the floor. I was tempted to swing for higher-priced seats but just couldn't pull the trigger on $1k for a show. This is already about the most I've ever paid for a live show, about on par for Tom Waits back in 2008. Neil and the Horse live again! Who knows how many more chances we'll have!? \m/

Also did not see any mention of a free copy of the new live album.

    ReplyDelete
  35. This is so frustrating Our presale is supposed to be for 2 days, so still open? I got through to Ticketmaster, chose my seats, but then changed my mind and went back to look for another pair, and now the TM screen is just blank...the presale unlocks and then just nothing

    Trying in Toronto

    Francis

  36. I'll be talking shit at Talking Stick. Lawn. Whoo hoo. Let's do it Old Boys

  37. sounds like some have been denied.

    re CD, per NYA:

"Purchasers will get the option to receive a free CD, which is included with each ticket purchased, for the forthcoming Neil Young Crazy Horse album FU##IN’ UP. You will receive an email within ten days of purchase asking if you would like to redeem this offer."

    So. Don't Be Denied!

    ReplyDelete
  38. So NYA said tickets could only be resold via Ticketmaster Resale to avoid scalping.
This is apparently not the case as there are many tickets on Stubhub already.
Anyone know what the deal is ?

    ReplyDelete
  39. That happened during Coastal also. I contacted StubHub . They next day they were removed.

    ReplyDelete
  40. " Love Earth Tour " really eh , sounds like " Love Green Dollars Tour " . Only fair to question real Earth facts ... Neil .. are you at all getting on a polluting jet planes during the tour , Lintvolt , horse and buggy , or when playing in Canada are ya goin ta be burning good Canadian Crude ?... You old self righteous polluting hippies allow one to question all !

  42. I looked at the show in Alabama just now and it shows pit tickets still availagle for less than $200, and lots more relatively cheap options.

  43. @FortMac : I feel sorry for you , your negative attitude is so unhealthy. Try being grateful for what you have. Negativity doesn’t help anyone, and it can cause you physical harm. You are among those who enjoy the work of Neil Young, and they’re all excited about his upcoming tour. There’s no reason for you to spill your negativity on their joy. It only reflects back to you. This world has enough hate, so please consider your words, as they represent who you are.

    Peace 🙏

    ReplyDelete
  44. Does anyone have the TM presale code ? Pls post. TY

    ReplyDelete
  45. @ wsanjose01 - try HARVEST72
    Don't Be Denied

    ReplyDelete
  46. Dan, I hear you. But I think this Fort Mac Dude is a guy who wants and needs the attention. Let's deny it.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Yay - got my Neil and CH ticket this morning via Live Nation Presale for the opening show in San Diego on 24 Apr! You never know how these things go (at least for me) so super happy the ticket purchase went thru. Seat in the middle of back section - $104 with fees. I've never see CH with Nils so definitely looking forward to it:)

    1. Don't mean to spoil your dreams, but the chances of Nils showing up 30
days before he has to be in Marseille France for the Springsteen tour seems highly unlikely. But you never know, maybe he'll join in for a few shows before he leaves.

  49. Oh I just saw that the exact lineup of Crazy Horse taking part in the Love Earth tour has not been revealed, but Nils Lofgren will be busy much of the time touring with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Micah Nelson will likely play in his place. That's okay too - I've enjoyed the POTR shows I've attended.

    ReplyDelete
  50. The only show with a code is the New Orleans show. Every other show just has "Buy Tickets" button, which takes you to the Live Nation site, but you can't purchase anything without a code. What gives!?

    ReplyDelete
  51. I just saw the RSD list for April, and the free CD that folks are getting when they buy a concert ticket will be released on vinyl. It also shows the it’s a RSD First, so it will be available afterwards after RSD.

@ Abner : I understand completely, but I felt compelled to respond out of compassion, not judgment.

    Peace 🙏

    ReplyDelete
  52. On sale tomorrow no code required

    ReplyDelete
  53. Dan, you are a good man. I totally understand as well but I think I have less compassion maybe a lot less.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Somebody's gotta sit down with Springsteen and just be like “Listen man...the *10-piece* E-Street Band will be fine without Nils for a brief Crazy Horse tour! These guys have a rich history together and haven't had a chance to hit their stride on the road yet with Nils! Unshackle the chains for a bit, will ya?”

I got my hopes up when Billy & Nils did a Livestream interview shortly after “World Record” was released. Both of the guys were so proud of the new album. And they both agreed that “Chevrolet” in particular was a new plateau for this lineup...a moment when everything came together like magic. And Nils went on about how he was super excited to get into a big groove with it on a tour with the Horse....to really sprawl out and experiment with it and let it take on new life, as it's clearly an incredible jam vehicle!

I'm reminded of when Max Weinberg would occasionally take a hiatus as drummer for The Max Weinberg 7 on “Late Night with Conan O'Brien” to go out on tour with Bruce. He would probably rather get out there and make the big bucks...plus Bruce was counting on him. That said, his time on “Late Night” really allowed him to get a chance to shine and get real creative...and frankly, his playing was much more interesting as Conan's bandleader. I feel the same with Nils...that he's given much more freedom in Crazy Horse and room for experimentation.

I wonder which gig he really prefers when it comes down to it. Either way, the upcoming tour won't be the same without him and I'm disappointed that I had to find out he wouldn't be a part of it by randomly stumbling across a comment from Ralph Molina on Facebook that was left the day after the pre-sale!

I don't know about the rest of you all...but Nils not being on the tour seems like a critical piece of information to include in the official tour announcement email that Neil Young Archives sent out. An email that also included direct links to the pre-sale! How a simple statement in the introduction letting us know definitively that an official Crazy Horse band member with roots going back 50+ years won't be a part of the tour you're announcing at that moment wasn't a priority is beyond my comprehension. It lacks decency. I hopped onto the pre-sale without a second thought because one would have to assume an official tour announcement would address this sort of personell change. A lot of fans will be arriving to these concerts still expecting to see the great Nils Lofgren in the fold.

The response I received from certain fans on Facebook was that I need to “keep up” better. Bullshit. Judging by the number of reactions to Ralph's comment saying Nils was out, I was clearly not the only one surprised (and of course, disappointed).

Let's be honest....this could've and should've been handled a little better. A simple clarification was all it took.

With that said, I hope Micah surprises me (and that he lets Neil handle the bulk of the guitar solos.) 😎

  55. For those folks who regret buying tickets… they can be sold back. I decided to wait for Neil to return to the Pacific Northwest.

    Your Brother Alan in Seattle

    ReplyDelete
  56. In the immortable words of the hero: "The sun rises and the sun sets. And if you wait, you will have a full day." Compliments to Grain of the Day, Alan, the brother in Seattle who for unexplicable reasons came to the optimistic conclusion that the Love Earth tour will touch down on the Northwest and therefore a flight to San Diego will not be necessary.

    ReplyDelete
  57. If I really had the money, I would stick to my original plan and hit San Diego. It could still happen but not likely.

I wrote Neil a letter and asked him to play Idaho if there can be a 2nd leg of the tour. Have a great day!

    Your Brother Alan in Seattle

    ReplyDelete
  58. The Idaho venue is small and is general admission. It is a fantastic location, saw him there in 2016. Dan is local, so it could be a cool meetup spot for the TW Rusted out Rondezvous. I am spoiled, got to see Neil 1.5 x last summer and loved it. Short on PTO (vacation hours) as well as cash, so, just trying to be responsible. Got 2 kids in college, and Seattle is expensive as Hell.

I wish all of us the best and hope to see you at a Neil Young concert pretty soon.

Keep on rockin’ in the Free World. As SRV said, “Moneys tight, nothin’ is free. Won’t somebody come and rescue me.”

    Brother Alan

    ReplyDelete
  59. Alan, frankly, I was of the illusion, that you would have wanted to spare this world the C02 load which would have eaten up your global average greenhouse gas output budget as a global citizen by half. But time and educational budget restrictions are just as good. If the venerable Horsemen are in good shape, Seattle or Vancouver will come around, I am sure.

    ReplyDelete
  60. @ Dionys : That too! I have flown just twice in the last 20 years. I am glad to not put more carbon into the world by burning more fossil fuels that way. My old college roommate is down there in San Diego still and I was hoping to meet up with him & hit a show. I haven’t seen him in 30 years. I am an expatriate of California. I may never go back there, partly based on carbon!

Still your Brother Alan, still in Seattle

    ReplyDelete
  61. I live in Finland and had resigned to hoping for a European tour, due to logistics and the US ticket prices. I turned 50 recently and had my party last night at a little venue (a brick mill from 1909 with timber rafters and pillars, and great atmosphere). I had booked the great local Neil tribute band Goldrust, who churned out fave after fave from Ragged Glory and other highlights. My joy turned into confusion-riddled gratitude, when it turned out my relatives had chipped in and secured a ticket at the Mansfield, MA gig. Can't believe I'll see Neil and the Horse again in May - see y'all there!

    ReplyDelete
  62. I finally got my priorities sorted out. I gotta go to San Diego. That is my final word!

    Your Brother Alan in Seattle

    ReplyDelete
  63. I am headed to San Diego for the show!

I gotta see Neil Young ride a Horse with no name!

    -Alan

    ReplyDelete
  64. @ Darth Malt - that awesome news! So happy your buddies helped you make the trip.

And maybe later in summer you'll get The Horse over in Europe?!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Got my tickets for the pit in Bridgeport via the NYA presale. Was a bit of a challenge but its great to think we get to see Neil and the Horse ride again

    ReplyDelete
  66. Does anyone have a spare ticket to Toronto at face value? Missed out and hoping to get one without being fleeced. Thank you very much,
