"Live Music Is Better", Of Course, So Get Out & Enjoy It

Well, yes, as everyone knows, "Live Music Is Better", of course.

The Thrashers have been getting out recently to "Parking Lot" concerts held locally at Jammin Java in Vienna, Virginia. Mostly, very local bands, no cover charge and very casual. Bring your own chairs, sit in your car or however you like. Pizza and cold beer in pitchers served.  Tip generously.

With lockdowns lifting, the sounds of music resumes.

So, just Keep Calm, No Fear, and Keep on Rockin'! #BigShift

After all, isn't all about the "Ordinary People of RUST"

  1. Friday evening, we saw a local blues band at an open air venue. It was refreshing, even though the place lacked optimum acoustics and the sound levels were iffy.

What it all brings home to me is the importance of a sense of community, and the ways in which music--especially live music-- acts a glue that brings and holds groups of people together. These times are tough for performing arts in general, since a lot of venues are off limits and audience capacities are much more tightly regulated. You can't sing, play, or act through a mask (unless it's a deliberate feature of the show), and gatherings, especially at indoor, intimate venues that tend to have better acoustics, are severely curtailed due to the current social distancing measures.

The more we can be together--especially when there are circumstances beyond our control demanding physical distance--the better, stronger, and happier we can grow.

  3. We're a tad rural & have been enjoying live outdoor music for at least the last 3 months. Pretty much every Friday, Saturday & the 3rd Thursday of every month

  7. @Thrasher We have had the hottest summer on record here in Phoenix, so there hasn't been a whole lot of the outdoor concerts and other situations where I would feel comfortable seeing music yet. I have been watching a lot of streaming performances this summer. It isn't quite the substitute for going to a show, but it works for now.

Well, if you can't support Live Music, supporting the streams and virtual tip jars is next best.

we gotta keep the music alive & flowin'.
