Norah Jones (Hearts) Neil Young

Norah Jones performs "Tell Me Why" at the 2010 MusiCares gala honoring Neil Young. Young was honored for his body of work, as well as his philanthropic efforts over the years.

(Proceeds from the sales of the DVD/Blu-ray will go to MusiCares, which gives musicians in need financial and medical assistance.)

From Norah Jones | Rolling Stone | Artists Pick Their Favorite Songs:
Fifteen years ago, Jones first fell in love with Heart of Gold, and she's been a hardcore Neil Young fan since.

"At night, when I'm cooking, I listen to him really loud," she says. "It's hard for me to listen to anything else." Over the years she's seen countless Young shows and even performed with him at the Bridge School Benefit in 2008. "There's something so emotional about the way he plays and writes," she adds.

"I always cry when I see him live."

Also, Norah Jones will be performing next weekend at the 25th Anniversary 2011 Bridge School Benefit Concert.

(Thanks Scott!)

  1. Easily a highlight of the evening this rendition. This and Ben Harper put the groove on in the covers they performed. Her love for Neil shines thru in this. Great string vibe between the ladies, though I don't know the other gal.

Oh, that's Sasha Dobson! Heard her on NPR a while back! She opened for Nora's tour and also backed her up.

Ya'll know who Nora's daddy is, right?
