Earlier this week, Neil Young hosted a Patron ZOOM call where he revealed that he has written six songs for his next album.
“One of them is really interesting. I call it ‘The Second Song.’ I woke up one morning thinking about this melody. I went, ‘Did I write this already or is this already a song?’ I tried to think, ‘What is it?’ I figured it must have been a song I wrote, but I couldn’t figure out what song it was. And so I wrote a bunch new lyrics and so I have a second song on that now. I’m excited about that one.
And I like all the others I have going.”
Neil also revealed some of the lyrics for a new song in progress:
“Soon I might be going
So I wanted you to know
It was Christmas in the Rockies
Just like summer with no snow
The Crimson Pirate was showing at the movies
It’s the one you really should see
The water is like diamonds
And the ships are on the sea
The answer to our questions is lingering in the mist
And the revolution is coming like a fighter with a fist.”
Also, in a statement on Neil Young Archives, he called for a boycott of Amazon saying. "I strongly recommend that you do not use Amazon".
Yesterday, another Neil Young Archives post titled "IT'S A NEW DAY", he ups the ante further
linking to an article listing contact information for the CEOs of 11 corporations – Amazon, Meta, American Airlines, AT&T, Microsoft, Home Depot, Verizon, FedEx, UPS, Dell, and Apple – and urges readers to reach out.

So sad to read, a once truly great man reduced to rambling about his phone contract, still, not unlike many bored boomers in Facebook comments. We can only hope Old Black guides him to better places this year.

So sad to read a once admiring fan reduced to commenting about other people's phone contract, yet, not unlike his self-pitying American counterparts responsible for their own mess. We can only hope the sound of Old Black lullabyes him back to his yesteryear realities.
ReplyDeleteIn 2001 Neil asked us "Are You Passionate?" He evidently still is, and I for one am grateful for that. Sure, he meanders a bit, he's an old man now, but at least he gives a f*** about his fellow man.

Edit: Lots of GUN Rights folks noticed in videos that the Feds murdered RN Pretty for having a holstered gun. And they had beaten & disarmed him before they shot him 10 x. So ya, we have a problem here with ICE murdering citizens for nothing.
