54 Years Later: "Ohio", Kent State, Student Protests & The Tin Soldiers March On | #MayTheFOURBeWithYou

School Shootings ... "How many more?"

53 years ago, on May 4, 1970 at ~12:25 PM, a school shooting took place on the campus of Kent State University, Ohio.

Remember those days when students were brave enough to march in the streets and end a war?

Now that today's college students have been safely muzzled by crippling loan debt and "woke" education, there is little need for authority to teach students a lesson similar to that educational day of May 4, 1970. It's been 50 years since shots rang out across a college campus, leaving four dead in Ohio and the lives of so many of that generation changed forever by the day's events.

And so, the tin soldiers march on and on... in Vietnam. Balkans. Iraq. El Salvador. Afghanistan. Libya. Syria. Yemen. Ukraine. Sudan. Palestine.

Nixon coming. Reagan coming. Bush coming. Obama coming. Trump coming. Biden coming. etc

So we here at Thrasher's Wheat look forward, as we look back to that fateful day at Kent State. In the meantime, rest assured that the mainstream media will ignore this anniversary of real news, while busy fabricating the latest fake news.

  1. @ Thrasher : Indeed the “Fake News” is coming from mainstream media, smearing the college protesters as “Anti-Semitic.” In reality, the protesters are trying to draw attention to the Genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, and their struggle to survive amid IDF bombing & dangerous food shortages. Israel reacts to the concert attack by Hamas & blames ALL Palestinians for it. Israel is committing Genocide and we should call it by that name.

Meanwhile the US continues to give Israel massive amounts of weapons to carry out this Genocide. Now Israel is asking Biden to protect Netanyahu from arrest for violating the Geneva Conventions rules of war. Israel is afraid of the world court because Israel is guilty of “Crimes Against Humanity.”

I again remind the reader that I am part Israeli. It is normal for people to lose their minds when Israeli violence is questioned in any way.

We who believe in Peace & Free Speech can never forget the Kent State murders.

I see the Campus protests as a glimmer of hope for humanity. Maybe these young people will Stand Up and Save the Earth (for human habitation) in the face of Global Warming. This could get the Big Shift started on a large scale (People caring and standing up for their beliefs, for peace. Kindness kills War.

Joe Biden and Trump are both disgusting, but at the moment, the Democratic President has blood on his hands from the women and children of Gaza. Biden thinks if he flirts with legalization of weed that we might forget the bombs and the slaughter of innocents, but we will not. Trump says Israel should “finish the job” so it looks like he is a Twin to Biden on that front.

Kudos to Thrasher for his undying commitment to free speech! I appreciate you! I thank you!

  2. PS- I could never vote for Trump, but the thought of voting for Bombin’ Biden makes me nauseated also!

Give us a reason to vote for you, maybe stop sending weapons for a minute!

  3. The protest situation today is entirely consistent with "the 60s". Any passing person could see that I believe. "Crippling loan debt" and "woke" culture criticism is really not part of any cogent point as I am reading this.

  4. If you voted for Joe Biden in 2020, you're a fool.

If you vote for Joe Biden in 2024, you're a traitor.

Have a nice May 4, everyone!

  5. And yet...The former president who would be King, on trial(s) for paying off women he had extra marital affairs with (in order to "buy" a presidency), inciting a riotous insurrection (which caused the death of capital police heroes), denied the peaceful transfer of power, shared Top secret documents with known enemies & "evil doers", denied the validity of the pandemic, the vaccine, causing untold deaths (after he, himself contracted Covid), etc...Remains as popular as ever?
Think about this. He cannot stay awake in court during the proceedings against him. His version is he is closing his eyes "to Listen better". For real. He needs to shutdown one of his senses just to listen. That's HIS version of the truth. Truth is, he should just acquaint himself with the truth. Lies & denies. And remains popular as ever? The other side is no better. We are truly doomed. "If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice". If you think either side cares about you, YOU are the fool.

  6. We are yet again on the precipice of our collective failure as a nation. We have become increasingly polarized, which is leading us all to self destruction. We have allowed ourselves to be painted into a corner. Once again, we only have the choice of voting against someone, as opposed to voting for someone.

We have been manipulated to believe that if one votes for the (so called) wrong person, then we are a traitor. How can we allow ourselves to be so corrupt. Each and every person has the right to vote for whom ever they wish, as this is a fundamental right.

As things stand now, there is no choice. Both parties are corrupt, and no one with better leadership qualities is willing to sell their soul to be the president of this most dysfunctional, and lost nation. We are now the Divided States of America, and anyone who has studied history will tell you that we are leading ourselves straight into the abyss. Fundamental freedom is at stake here, and no matter who you think is going to save you, they couldn’t care less. We are allowing ourselves to become slaves to demagoguery.

This isn’t going to get better……

Our only hope is to start taking care of each other, the very best we can. Don’t turn your back on your fellow human. The government is only interested in taking care of themselves, so stop convincing yourself that they care about you……. They don’t. They never have. And they never will. Stop being manipulated.

    Peace 🙏

  8. If I voted for Biden then I am a fool
    I voted for Biden
    Hence, I am a fool.

    Modus Ponens, valid argument.

    So what is the problem?

Just maybe the antecedent is not sufficient for the truth of the consequent? Just maybe, but what do I know, I am a fool

  9. woke education? what? what is this supposed to explain in relation to student protests?

    ReplyDelete
  10. It appears to be a hell of a problem for many misled US students to oppose, protest and condemn the massacre of 1200 Israelis by the Hamas terrorist organization and at the same time to oppose, protest and condemn Netanyahu's government reacting with unproportional use of military violence, the human rights violations against Palestinian non-combattants and so forth.

All of these university protest camps would be a lot more credible if those students were about to stop the funding of illegal Israeli settlements on the West Bank (most of the money coming from US supporters) and demand the liberation of Israeli hostages held by the Hamas. At this time nobody in these protest camps seems to understand that it is the Hamas who is using the Palestinian people (nation) as a protective shield against the Israelis. The ignorance concerning these issues on all sides of the secondary conflict in western democracies is very hard to bear. And I am not an Israeli but a German and happen to be the father of a son who just a few weeks before the Hamas attack spent a semestre at an Israeli university and who could have been at the concert event attacked Bataclan style. Inspite of 9-11 many Americans appear just to not knowing what terrorism is. Greetings from Munich (Yes, we remember the 1972 Olympics)

  11. Manichean world views just make me sick, sorry for the rant.

  12. @Dionys: Thanks for your insightful input on what is happening. I fear the West has been too long with their heads firmly planted in the ground. The West is being run by a power that has no interest in human rights, or acts against humanity. They are simply doing what is necessary for them to continue to profit from innocent people suffering. Profit at any price.

    Peace🙏 someday?

  13. Woke education. One has to be glad Neil never actually checks this blog out.

  14. ok, well "woke education" is not the problem. The problem goes far deeper. Students frequently identify authentic social justice dilemmas and then seem to blithely choose a side, without much or any thought on the more difficult questions. Perhaps this has more to do with a failed attention span and a grossly superficial education. I am noticing as I do work and research here in Ireland, europeans are better at cultural literacy. Students seem more directly trained in cultural analysis. Dionys is a mature paradigm of this cosmopolitan education.

US education is clearly failing to provide anything resembling cultural literacy. A lack of subtlety in analysis and thought is a gateway to an ongoing ignorance and the belligerence we see everywhere.
