ReplyDeleteThat's right WBKM, no blues... only joy & memories.
In addition, Graham Nash appeared in a video message, acknowledging the loss of CSNY bandmate David Crosby. A 2013 performance of "Guinnevere" was then played on the screen. "Hello everybody," Nash said [via Rolling Stone]. "David was my best friend for almost 50 years. I'm going to miss him terribly in my life. I think about him every day. I'd like to revisit a beautiful piece of music, David and I doing 'Guinnevere' at Jazz at Lincoln Center with the famous trumpeter Wynton Marsalis. Enjoy the music, and please rejoice. I'm going to miss him every day of my life."
This was followed by Stephen Stills, Chris Stills and Crosby's son James Raymond performing "Wooden Ships."
Great to see Neil after four years of no shows, thanks for posting!

ReplyDeleteFrom Pat "Barefoot Floors":
We saw a great show last night! I wanted to mention two things.
When Stephen and Neil closed the show with Long May You Run, Neil walked over to Stephen and they sang the final chorus to one another. When they finished Neil flashed a big smile to Stephen. It was really touching!
Also, the Uber driver on our way to the show told us he had gone to high school with Amber Young in SF. He said she was 'really chill' and a very good person to be around. Also, she was artistic.
Just thought you would like to hear about that.
Joe Walsh jamming Rocky Mountain Way with Stephen. When Joe introduced the song, he said if he had known he was going to have to play this for the rest of his life, he would have written a better song!
Stills/Young tour with POTR as backup? Yeah, I could get behind that idea.
ReplyDeleteWatching the clip of Long May You Run I was totally blown away by the strength in Neil's voice, it was amazing! His voice, to me anyway, has sounded a bit thinner on recent albums, understandable with age of course, but that performance was like listening to Neil 25 years ago. Beautiful!
ReplyDeletelooks like Darryl is letting Neil eat whatever he wants.
