Somewhere along the North Atlantic coast around Rockland, Maine there's a shop sign "Rust Never Sleeps".

As an almost lifetime "rustie", we all know that one of the most fundamental universal laws -- in the immortal lyrics of Neil Young -- is that Rust Never Sleeps. But why?
