We're Back! Thrasher's Wheat Returns From Out On the Beach, Back On The Grid

#RITFW - Rockin' on the Long Walk to FREEDOM
Robben Island World Heritage Site
33 Degrees, 49' 03" S, 18 Degrees, 22' 44" E

As you may have noticed, Thrasher's Wheat is back from our extended "On the Beach" excursion -- out beyond where the pavement turns to sand.

We hope to have more to say in the future about our adventures, but in the meantime, we will only just say that it was yet another trip of a lifetime in more ways than one. We feel so blessed and fortunate to have the opportunity to experience far away places and cultures.

Thanks so very much to all of our dear readers and supporters for all of your warm and loving comments which we're just returning to now. Hopefully, we can reply personally to everyone, but if not, please be assured that all of your messages of encouragement and support are truly appreciated.

So we'll just continue to keep on bloggin' -- not only until the power goes out -- but right on through the ongoing Quantum Big Shift.

peace & love,
thrasher and thrashette

ps - we hope to be announcing some significant TW news soon...

  1. Thrasher and Thrashette,
Welcome back, your dreams were your ticket out
Welcome back, to that same old place that you laughed about
Well the names have all changed since you hung around
But those dreams have remained and they've turned around
Who'd have thought they'd lead ya
Back here where we need ya
Yeah we tease him a lot 'cause we got him on the spot
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back, welcome back

  2. Do You know what venue Neil & the Stray Gators were playing in Tuscaloosa? I went to U of A back in the late 70's and saw a few shows on campus at Foster's auditorium which I feel might be the place where this show happened. Foster's is the place where Governor George Wallace stood at the entrance and barred blacks from admission to the school. Hell of an album, can't beat Neil doing a perfect "Alabama" in Alabama then following it with the best version of "Don't be Denied" that I've ever heard...

  4. @ Grey Rider - thanks for the welcome back!

Yep, our dreams are the ticket out to where to pavement turns to sand. But we did get a round trip ticket, afterall.

@ Unknown - per liner notes -- Memorial Coliseum, at the University of Alabama.

And right, a very fine version of "Don't be Denied".

@ Paul - a timely quote there by Nelson Mandela. Speaking of which, wee did get a chance to speak with several prisoners who served time on Robben Island w/ Mandela. Whew, heavy stuff, man.

And then just standing there in Nelson's cellblock and hearing the stories. Unforgettable.

We really don't know what freedom is and what it takes to break truly free.

The Long Walk to FREEDOM is never really over.

  5. Welcome back Thrasher and Thrashette.

Funny, I don't spend too much time online these days, but I checked out the site a day or two after you announced your little break, and I just logged back in today upon your arrival back.

Who knows, maybe something about "connecting thoughts and actions"...

I'm glad you both were able to get away and had a memorable vacation.

Balance is important in life, and it's not all about blogs or even Neil Young, but it's always nice returning home (literally and metaphorically) to where we are comfortable.

Thrasher's Wheat always feels like my online home, even when I haven't been on the front porch in quite a while...
