Elton John's Tribute to Pegi Young - January 19, 2019



Elton John paid tribute speech to the late Pegi Young while in concert on the Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour at SAP Center in San Jose, CA on January 19, 2019.

  2. I was not there but I'd be willing to bet every dollar in my savings account it was "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" that he dedicated to her. That is his go to dedication song for everyone who dies when he takes the time to make an acknowledgment of their passing. Only exception that I'm aware of is when he had his writing partner rework the lyrics to "Candle in the Wind" for Princess Diana's funeral back in 1997. Every other time it has always been "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" including at the opening night of his Farewell tour (which I was at) where he dedicated it to the rapper Mac Miller who overdosed the night before.

  3. A genuine dedication from Sir Elt - not everyone's fav but the work & money he has raised for various charities is immense. A low key dedication that is genuine.
