"Union Man" by Neil Young: TW Song of The Moment

An occasional feature here at Thrasher's Wheat is our Song of The Moment. Also, see previous .

Happy Labor Day!

The TW Song of The Moment is "Union Man" by Neil Young.

UNION MAN

I'm proud to be a union man
I make those meetings when I can, yeah
I pay my dues ahead of time
When the benefits come I'm last in line, yeah.

I'm proud to be a union man.
Every fourth Friday at 10 am
There's a local meeting of the A F of M, yeah!

This meeting will now come to order
Is there any new business?

Yeah, I think 'Live music are better'
Bumper stickers should be issued.

What was that?

'Live music is better' bumper stickers
Should be issued

The gentleman says
'Live music is better' bumper stickers
Should be issued

All in favor of what he said
Signify by sayin' "ay"

Ay!

If, however, you are opposed
Signify by saying "no".
I'm proud to be a union man.

After all, isn't all about the "Ordinary People"?

  3. I was in my local record store the other day and they had official NYA re-issues of Hawks & Doves, Re-Ac-Tor, and This Notes For You. I was surprised as I haven't seen any promotion for these re-issues online. There's some great hidden gems on each of these albums. For instance, I forgot how much I enjoy side one of Hawks & Doves... it's superb.

  4. A throw away record from Neil - at the time lightweight now it would be viewed as the usual stuff from Neil
