As a side note, last time we posted pre-sale info, a few folks wrote in suggesting that we shouldn't announce this on TW. But here's our thinking on posting pre-sale info. Fan pre-sales have become somewhat of a joke. Every ticket scalper in the country has this info way in advance of the average fan.

By now, many have read the Live Nation email with presale details, so we're not revealing any secret here at TW.

And the ticket brokers will be out in full force with their automated buying programs scooping up the tickets while we try and decipher those squiggly CAPTCHAs.

So we're just try to give Neil fans a heads up on this. The more legitimate Neil fans snagging tix means the fewer go on the market via scalpers. Which we think is a good thing.

Here's where we discussed all of this awhile back. Because we have all been there before.

Don't Be Denied!

  3. @Jonathan - you'd better let Live Nation know, they're apparently giving out incorrect information on their Facebook page:

    Gordy Ferguson
Can I get the presale passcode for Neil Young and Crazy Horse at Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA?

Live Nation Hey Gordy, the Live Nation pre-sale passcode for this event is "amplify". Enjoy!

  8. hi - and what is the presage password for Philly? I didn't see the Live Nation email! thanks.

  9. This business of the presale passwords is pretty annoying, aside from the whole getting on at 10 AM and finding not much. Through what affiliation is the password disseminated? You would think through this blog, or through the Rust List, or maybe through Neil Young's site if one bought stuff through there. I have a ticketmaster account and it doesn't come through there, at least not yet, though I seem to get presale notifications for everything else.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Well I do hope people start listing the presales for the shows that go onsale today SOON. I'm looking for Philly & CT.

    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  23. LiveNation presale password is amplify, this works for Pitt and Cleveland for sure and I would assume any other Neil LiveNation presale today.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

Probably wouldn't have minded as much had I not just seen Radiohead, AND just bought tickets for Wilco last night, AND still need to buy My Morning Jacket tickets! I think I have a problem...

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'm in at Boston! My e-mail had "amplify" for the password, but I found "crazy" here and it worked.

    Stringy

    ReplyDelete
  40. from an interview apparently Neil did today:
    (whole thing here: http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/story/260949/showbiz/showbizabroad/a-minute-with-neil-young-on-his-new-album-film)

Q: Are you and Crazy Horse going on tour for "Americana"?

A: "Yes. There's going to be a string of shows, starting on August 10, in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. That'll go for just a couple of weeks. We'll also be playing in New Mexico and Colorado. I still love touring, and I'm really looking forward to doing the shows with Crazy Horse."

    - my read is that the 'Americana' tour might be the 'short' tour he's talking about and therefore the rest of this tour might be something else ... 'ie' past, present and future tour ... on that note wondering what the difference between present and future is

    ReplyDelete
  41. pittsburgh pw is 'amplify'
    clevleand pw is 'WKSU'

    ReplyDelete
  42. Amplify worked for Bridgeport CT

  43. soooo excited to see Neil again! anyone know the pre-sale for saskatoon???? thanks

    ReplyDelete
  44. The last time Neil played Cleveland was with Crazy Horse for Greendale at CSU (Wolstein). Had awesome seats on Neil's side of the stage. Second half of the show was the best Horse I have experienced. They lingered in intense applause with huge smiles forever. Thanks to this sight I secured the almost exact same seats along with a 40 year old man that has NEVER been to a concert.I can't wait to watch him watch the horse!$120 a ticket, priceless!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I got section 104 Row H for the Cleveland show. Are these good seats??

    ReplyDelete
  46. Seattle password help?

    ReplyDelete
  51. Just got the email with the pre-sale code for the 10/17 show at the Hollywood Bowl. Presale code is: Crazy. On sale tomorrow at 10 am. Opening bands are Los Lobos and Infantree (?)

    ReplyDelete
  52. Thanks to who posted the code word (AMPLIFY)for Cleveland. I was able to get section 124 row AA seats 5 and 6. By the time I got the code word and figured everything out it was 10:45. All things considered I am greatful to have gotten the seats. Geez, could they make it anymore diffacult. A big THANKS to Thrashers Wheat, if not for this site I wouldn't have been able to get them at all. Hope it won't be as hard to get tickets for Kingston Ontario and Toronto. Good luck to all the Neil faithful in getting good seats. And Oh yes, a big thanks to Neil.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Any information on the presale passcode for Seattle on Nov 10?

    ReplyDelete
  54. www.bendbulletin.com/article/20111111/NEWS0107/111110328/

    November 12....every year.

Only two days after this years Seattle date!
    And only $5!

Me and No One are car poolin'!

    Peace!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Got tickets to Fairfax but I have to say that was one of the biggest cluster-cusses I have ever experienced buying tickets online. If a new seating/pricing style is being tried out, fine, but they should have been clearer about what the different prices meant beforehand.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Thanks Thrasher

for everything you do here of course

and for providing a place where this password madness can be navigated successfully ...

LiveNation password wasn't going to work, but tried passwords from notes left here until success

because this community exists, this old man & diehard fanboy will see and hear the Horse in its ragged glory at long last

so it's a hockey rink - it used to be worse

    thanks again

    ReplyDelete
  57. Any word on Chicago pre-sale password?

    ReplyDelete
  58. It would have been more helpful and fair if this were posted a few days BEFORE or at least the day BEFORE. Tough luck for those of us who saw it after work today. Too late for the pre-sales (except NYC and maybe others on Friday 6/8). And what happened to the Neil Young fan club e-mails of pre-sales that used to be sent? Not this time. It's tough to be a fan.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Anyone know the password for Tulsa, OK?

    ReplyDelete
  60. Info? Password for MSG show?
    Would be most appreciated.
    Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  61. I want to echo the sentiments of those who went through the goatfuck of seeing 4 different password options once the ticket window opened yesterday. I mean really Live Nation?

    1) Radio pre-sale password?
    2) Venue pre-sale password?
    3) Live Nation Mobile App pre-sale password?
    4) Live Nation pre-sale password?

    Fuck you jerks.

I lost a good five minutes frantically entering every word I'd seen or been GIVEN by Live Nation before finally getting in. Then the tiered pricing that DIDN'T specify which level was GA.

I'm with Doug (tuned4life) in being extremely thankful to simply have gotten tickets - knowing I will be there.

But this was the polar opposite of the Twisted Road ticket purchase experience last spring. I got pit seats on-line with zero hassle.

One more time - fuck you Live Nation/Ticketbastard. Makes me wish Pearl Jam didn't cave in all those years ago...

    ReplyDelete
  62. MSG just released pre sale code...

    ReplyDelete
  63. anyone know if the cheapest ticket for MSG is ten admin in the front like last time? anyone having luck getting those?

    ReplyDelete
  64. Anyone score the Chicago United Center presale password for Live Nation yet?

The radio presale password is XRTRADIO. It's on their website along with an entry to win a pair of tickets. Link is on the homepage.

Other passwords I've seen are CRAZY, AMPLIFY, FOLKROCK, FOGHEAD, and LOVE.

    Good luck!

    ReplyDelete
  65. I just got GA tix for MSG.. apparently they are GA east which is back half of floor. Which GA section is not listed while you buy tickets, only in confirmation email.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Got MSG tickets for my dad and I. First time I saw Neil was with CH at MSG in August 1996. Figured this would be a great (late) Father's Day gift to go back 16 years later!

Thanks to Tim who posted the MSG presale info. Very appreciative of that!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Yeah, I got stuck in the GA East section of MSG as well. Hopefully there really isn't a barrier between the East and West sections. Sometimes they show areas broken up on the seating chart for GA but it doesn't actually work that way once you get there. I plan on calling MSG at some point to find out.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Yes, I meant to say thank you to Tim.
    Greatly appreciated!
I hope you are right about no barrier in middle of MSG. Last time Neil played MSG, it was all open I think..
    I was 20ft from Neil.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Thanks! what price point was the GA section ticket? cheapest? Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  70. Because I have ZERO faith in ticketmaster & and since the MSG renovation I have yet to see there not be a barrier..... DID ANYONE GET WEST GA!!!! I don't think they were available to us normal fans, just insiders & scalpers. Anyone???

    ReplyDelete
  71. What a truly frustrating experience!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  72. I paid $115 for GA east at MSG

    ReplyDelete
  73. Last time I went to a show at MSG that had GA tickets sold as "west" and "east", there was indeed a barrier in between the two sections.

    ReplyDelete
  74. "Last time I went to a show at MSG that had GA tickets sold as "west" and "east", there was indeed a barrier in between the two sections."

Well that is depressing news indeed.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Floor in Fairfax !!!

    ReplyDelete
  76. I scored 4 GA West tickets using the password Tim shared (THANKS TIM!) ... so there was definitely some allotment of GA West tickets available this morning. The price was $115 per.

    ReplyDelete
  77. amplify worked for Chicago pre-sale

    ReplyDelete
  78. Thanks for the info. Are you guys getting GA tickets for MSG by going to the MSG site or the Live nation site or Ticketmaster site. Can you please repeat the password and the site? I'm having a tough time getting anything other than reserved through the iive nation site. Thanks for any help.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Just 1 min ago I got GA West MSG tickets via the MSG site. Thanks all for the info and help...

    ReplyDelete
  80. Went the My Morning Jacket show last december witch was sold like that West and East Floor and they do indeed install a barrier right in the middle of the arena, i wonder now if that thing is sponsored by scalpers.

    Screw the fans right?

BTW i could't get a West ticket, only East and had to try quite a few times to get it :(

    ReplyDelete
  81. You're lucky to have gotten those west tickets. 2 of us tried from 4 PCs this morning right at 10am sharp and all we pulled were East. Happy to hear they are the same price as the east. I'll take another shot Sunday. Thanks for the info!

    ReplyDelete
  82. Same deal. At just after 10, an "internet connectivity" error occurred and Ticketmaster seemed to lose the GA East tix I'd happily scored.. An hour an a half later having no luck with even Best Available for the past hour and a half, I was a able to buy 2 GA West tix. Go figure.

    ReplyDelete
  83. WEST TICKETS ARE POPPING UP NOW FOR MSG. A bunch of us just got them. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  84. Yeah, It seems they've opened up the GA west now, earlier it was just GA east.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Just got great seats for Tulsa venue, thank you for this site, Thrasher, and today's my birthday!!! Life is good.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Got tickets for Chicago! The Live Nation password is AMPLIFY and the radio presale password is XRTRADIO.

I tried under both and found the XRT seats to be better.

I'm so grateful for this site and all of the diehard fans! On October 11th 3 generations will be Rockin' section 312. Can't wait!

    ReplyDelete
  87. Just scored two GA Floors for Tulsa!! $61 each. Life is cheap in the midwest. It's a real small hall too. I can breathe now!! Thanks Thrasher for the heads up on the pre-sales!

    Steven James

    ReplyDelete
  88. What are the Tulsa OK passwords?

    ReplyDelete
  89. One of Seattle's password is KEYARENA

    ReplyDelete
  90. Why do they release the best tickets after 10? So the lazy people get West GA? Thats comforting

    ReplyDelete
  91. HEY NEIL TAKE A STAND FOR US FANS ON THIS ONE.FIRST IN LINE FOR TICKETS GETS FRONT ROW!!!!!!! SCREW THIS INTERNET TICKET SALES. LETS GO BACKWARDS ON THIS ONE, KINDA LIKE LISTENING TO OLD RECORDS. TRY TO IMAGINE HOW FEW TICKETS WERE LEFT AT 10:00 THIS MORNING " FOR THE ORDINARY PEOPLE".

    ReplyDelete
  92. I got 4 GA West tix for MSG right at 10am, so there were definitely some GA Wests available at the start of the presale.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Tulsa password: AMPLIFY for live nation pre-sale. We got great seats. Good luck

    ReplyDelete
  94. seattle livenation code: KEYARENA

    got mine, whoo hoo!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  95. password for livenation presale seattle is amplify - I accessed it through through Livenation facebook page

    ReplyDelete
  96. Many tickets still available for Boston after the official onsale today. It doesn't seem to be selling that well.

    ReplyDelete
  97. After trying to fit the presale password into 5 different fields, I finally scored a ticket to see Neil & Crazy Horse at the Hollywood Bowl on 10/17. At $57.10 ($41.00 face price + $11.85 convenience fee + $4.25 processing fee = $57.10) it’s the cheapest ticket available and I’m waaay in the back, but what the hell. At least I’m going. What a hassle.

Brings to mind a better time.

Back in July 1993, tickets were announced for Neil & Booker T & the MG’s at the LA Sports Arena for the 9/93 gig. Back then, you could still buy tickets at the venue’s box office by lining up an hour (or 3) before the tickets went on sale. My mates and I were 3rd in line when they went on sale. The woman said that we could have front row center seats, but the rub was that we’d pay for them now, but had to wait for the night of the show to pick them up at the box office and then only with ID for all 4 of us. I asked the box office gal if this was the Sports Arena’s policy and she said no, it’s ‘what Neil Young wants and is his policy to discourage scalping.” Made perfect sense and we gladly agreed in exchange for front row seats.”

19 years later, the process of buying tickets has more to do with luck then with being first in line.

  100. I don't know how high the ticket prices are for other shows on this upcoming Crazy Horse tour....but the Madison Square Garden prices are absolutely RIDICULOUS!!! $77 for the cheapest and farthest away seats?!?!? And $288 for the best available....it's a crime that they're THIS high!

How can you expect ANY average citizen to be able to afford these prices?! Neil and the Horse are one of my all-time favorite groups and one of my dreams has been to finally see them live...but to doll out that much money for ONE measly ticket is just about too much to ask. On Ticketmaster, the say "Each ticket comes with a physical copy of 'Americana'..." which is nice...but hardly makes up for the wrip-off ticket prices.

Sorry for ranting...I'm just really disappointed that they get away with jacking the prices up THIS high for a rock and roll concert. It makes me sick!

    ReplyDelete
  101. Jim - Not replying to justify or explain situation.

Only to point out that you are incorrect: "Madison Square Garden prices are absolutely RIDICULOUS!!! $77 for the cheapest and farthest away seats?!?!? And $288 for the best available."

    Not true.

The best tickets are the cheapest... GA on the floor will get you closer to the stage than the most expensive.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Anyone have Calgary, November 13th, presale codes?
Neil x14, Los Lobos x5 and I cant wait to see them again!

It might just AMPLIFY your results. :)
