Flannel shirts were something we wore all time & suddenly this guy shows up wearing one on an album cover.
ReplyDeleteJunkyards were pretty taboo until we saw Neil climbing around one.
Junkies were also pretty taboo until Neil started writing about them.
Anything with cinnamon.
Anytime I encounter disrespect, bigotry, and racism I hear the old folks tied in white cloaks don't it bring you down home ...
I mean flannel shirts that weren't tucked in your pants!

The cultural "norm" was tucking in your shirt tail (flannel or cotton) back in the 60s. Leaving your shirt tail hanging out was considered disrespectful and deviant! A punk, sort of like Marlon Brando and James Dean although by today standards, they were pretty tidy.
