Wasn't Jack kind of dead in 1968?
ReplyDeleteThis is what the left looks like all around the world - throwing rocks, setting dumpsters on fire, rioting against police forces, displaying vulgarity through all sorts of methods. 1968 is remembered for the violence that occured at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. That violence was perpetuaued by leftist agitators. Forty three years later it's still the leftists who present this brand of political theater and Obama is leading the charge with his divisive rhetoric and class warfare on all fronts. And yet a certain group of Americans (Tea Party) who happen to disagree with their government and rise up to peacefully protest against it - why they are labeled as racists and are deemed an angry mob by the media.
ReplyDeleteThe world is upside down.
World on a String
@World on a String - yep, the world is upside down.
ReplyDeleteAre you part of the 99%? Or the 1%?
Divisive rhetoric? I hate to do this Thrash but I am so sick of this. There is a whole segment of elected officials who have never accepted Obama as this country's President. He was not elected President for some of America,he was elected President for ALL of America. If you say he is NOT your President,I say you're NOT an American!!! YOUR COMMENT JUST ADDS FUEL TO THE FIRE!! Those "leftists" as you call them, are just showing the Wall Street minions what Main Street America is thinking. It takes guts
ReplyDeleteto do what they're doing and that's what made America ..GUTS!!
@rrolandr1952 - maybe you mis-read my comment? Maybe I mis-read yours?
ReplyDeleteBecause the last thing we're trying to be is divisive. We assume Anon is part of the 99%. We assume you are part of the 99% -- we definitely are.
As a long time reader of this blog, you know we have pushed back very hard on this whole left-right construct. It's all an allusion now.
Left/Right, black/white, protestant/catholic, north/south, east/west, christian/muslim, etc it's all part of divide & conquer strategy by the elite 1%.
They want us fighting each other while they laugh & scoop up the loot.
Wake up. We are your brother. We're all on the same side, man.
Everyone is a winner in the game of peace.
c'mon. let's play.
peace & love
"First they came for the Communists, and I didn’t speak up, because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak up, because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn’t speak up, because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak up for me."
~~Rev. Martin Niemoller, 1945
Hey Thrash..my comments were directed at Anon..that's why I apologized beforehand cuz I know you hate the rhetoric when it get political and away from NY STUFF.These kids are full of American pride and I can't stand to see people undermine someone else's courage just because they don't agree with them.Anonymous,we ain't the rest of the world..we're the United States of America.
ReplyDeleteI do remember 1968 very well. The young kids were protesting the morality everybody was preaching about but nobody was practicing.
ReplyDeleteIndustries were given free range dumping chemicals and crap into our drinking water. We were spraying our food with DDT.
At least that's what I remember -- the hypocracy of my parents "Do as I say, not as I do."
What goes around, comes around.
BTW, Tea Party are labeled racists because they don't speak out against it. They allow for this fringe to hang on to the coat-tails but they don't speak out against racism.
Until the Tea Party moves away from the personal agenda to remove environamental & education standards, safeguards, and protections for American citizens, they'll continue being a lightening rod for the likes of Michele Bachmann and people like her with homophobic, white racist, and anti-Christian views.
I don't get your argument WOAS.
ReplyDeleteThe world is always going to look upside down, especially when you think you're the one rightside up.
How can anyone take sides with a street gangs promoting greed, small government, & gluttony over a street gang fighting for equity, representation, and protection from small government, greed, and gluttony?
Participating in government and paying taxes is not a choice here. It never was.
It's an expectation that our constitutional forebearers had for each and every citizen except those who were slaves.
You don't want to pay taxes for public education? For environmental protections? For safe food? For safeguarding housing and medical attention for people with disabilities?
Tough luck buddy. This is America. Love it or leave it.
Oh Thrasher, you are so right about the 1% club.
ReplyDeleteIf everyone just turned off their televisions once in a while, and instead cranked up their stereos or go out dancing or take their kids to a park & look at bugs under a magnifying glass; we'd all be better off!
