  1. Neil's voice sounded great, especially on Comes a Time. Lyrics on Peaceful Valley and Love and War are so clumsy that I felt a little sheepish during those tunes, especially with the Farm Aid crowd.

  2. Respectfully suggest that you consider taking the wool away from your eyes...but then I don't really know what I'm saying.

  3. I was listening to Neil's Farm Aid sound check of Peaceful Valley on You Tube and when he sang, "politicians gathered for a summit and came away with nothing to decide" I felt chills as I sat contemplating the economic state of things right now and how prophetic Neil's comments sounded. Granted Neil's referring to their inability to act boldly on the environmental front but it could just as well apply to the economic hole we're in both in the US and Europe ... the debt ceiling and the Euro debt crisis ... anyhow, it was just one of those Neil moments when you feel like he's captured the essence of something of the mood so accurately giving voice to the social concerns of the times so perfectly and poetically ...

  4. @Dan1 - Yes, that's the thing about a lot of Neil's music. You can project a lot of meaning into so many different contexts.

We're still trying to absorb ATGR 40 years on...

  5. The show was amazing!! Loved it. Had a cool thing happen. I was sitting smoking (I know, I suck) anyhow, I see Neil Young walk by!!!! I jumped up and followed for awhile. He was just strolling around (with a little bit of security). He was really cool about letting us take pics. He would veer off everyonce in awhile and approach a booth with a local farmer and shake their hand. Then!!! And this was the COOLEST!! He spotted a guy with a Neil Young and Crazy Horse Tee shirt on and walked up and said hi to him. The guy was absolutely STUNNED!! He wasn't sure exactly what happened. He asked if that was really Neil Young!! Neil was just grinning after he did that. Anyhow. Got some good shots and the music was great. Gotta check out Willie's kid, Lukas Nelson if you have not yet. Blew everyone away!!

  7. Already uploaded them. Don't have one with him and the tee shirt guy. It was really quick, but there are some others. You should be able to see them on FB cuz you are on my list. If not, go to my page Sandy Kitterman Horne.

  9. I loved everything about it except the all-too short brevity of NY' set. I wanted more!

And also wonder-- Was it just me, or did I hear him seem to tease us with a few licks from "Eldorado" before "Love And War"?

    PEACE
