In 2024, Neil Young announced that he has "begun assembly" of NYA Volume #4 by The Volume Dealers. Per announcement, "Original performances" will be the basis for cut selection. The Bluenotes "10 Men Working" will be an unheard original song on V#4. Volume #4 will be the "second last" of the series. Back in 2022, Neil had talked of Volume #4 as being the final volume.

ReplyDelete@ Herb & all: I used to care a lot about that. Then I got more broke & realized I just can’t afford the Blu Ray sets. I have my vol 1 Blu Rays and many NY albums on Blu Ray, but not adding any more as I foresee.
DeleteDream Machine could push me over the edge tho. At least in terms of really wishing I could afford it.
But the CDs will do. I hate listening to MP3’s & thin sources. CD is pretty full compared to what most people in the world are getting.
And then there is my insatiable appetite for more music. One difference nowadays is that I go thrifting a lot. I pick up a cd for $1 or $3 to “feed the jones.” Nope, I am not keeping up with the Joneses. We have bigger fish to fry. Like Trump! He is one FAT fish!

I am out of work with a hand injury. The safety net I have been paying into for 30 years is there for me now: FMLA leave.
But I will have my new Bionic hand by the time NYA4 comes out, a knuckle joint replacement, who ever heard of such a thing? I am grateful the technology exists in my day & age to DO the surgery. In that way, I hit the jackpot.
I played guitar a few days ago & was amazed by my ability to do it with a destroyed 3rd finger MCP joint. I had!’t touched it much since April arrived. No cartilage in there so it hurts like a bitch if I try to do some thing like twisting with one hand.
Herb, I will be there with you in protest, as will Dan. The spirit & energy of the people rejecting the idiot king is undeniable. As big of a Dick as he is, he has met his match in those who oppose him.
An unstoppable force meets a lard ass with a bad nut in his head, an immovable object of sorts. We will win, and all the grifters will go to prison.
Only one way out, ok, 2: Flee to Russia, or
Escape into the “Next World.” It’s worth a try, Dump. If I was the man in the boat I would cross the river & bring back Chris Cornell, leaving twice his weight in excrement thanks to the trade. The boat will ride much higher in the water after we drop off “Diaper Don.”
No crimes being considered here, no need to report. I am a wheeler dealer but face my limits when it comes to swapping folks out of the afterlife.
No ill will there. It’s just that Satan is waiting his turn & he has a lot to discuss with Donald Dump. Mostly a bunch of high fives between those two old friends. So much to talk about: Pedophilia & grifts for instance.
Those two will be toasting and roasting together as they tell each other tales of who out-did the other. In the end, Dump wins. He “beat the Devil.” Congratulations.
But all this talk of the afterlife is so uncertain. We better stick it to the man right here in the real world.

No King's Day is a great movement. And on a completely different subject, I am super stoked about Volume 4. Blue Notes Live, Freedom era, Crazy Horse tours, Mirror Ball Live, Silver And Gold live. It mostly was a great era for Neil's music.

Top of my list is the studio version of 60-0 with the SNL band (Charley Drayton, Steve Jordan + Poncho) that was previewed in 2020 on NYA. Neil said it was going to be on Road of Plenty but it didn't appear on the Vol. 3 disc with that name.

The cycle keeps getting shorter, thankfully.

Is this how digital telepathy works nowadays? Or is it that someone at the other end is reading German? The other day I suggested on (The German Website) Rusted Moon that someone more knowledgeable than me explain the intricacies of the Neil Young commercial machine. And someone with access to records of all these registered companies made a very nice list of all these Broken Silver Fiddle Arrows and Bandits wearing the other shoe. Very convincing documentation, should be made available here, too. Then there is an English version of another Rusted Moon item appearing on this blog. I made a comment on the German website, now the first date (Decade's release in 1977) is added and miraculously my thought is presented in a comment by Thrasher. Not that I object at all... Sugar Mountain now has a "Ticket Stub of the Day" thing and I wait until one of the few that I contributed will show up.
ReplyDeleteThe Rust List had some exchange about the age structure of Neil Young fans with an interesting contribution by the Hon. Robert Unreleased Broadfoot.
Sitting at my desk my gaze sometimes wanders to the right where all the Neil Young stuff is neatly shelved, a Hanekroot original of the 1976 incarnation of the saint adorning the wall, and a bottle of wine sold under the name "Harvest Moon" completing the altar-like composition. So I imagine a lot of Neil Young fans do have something similar, a corner in a room where all this is kept. I am curious what they look like, these corners.
Recently I came across a Danish publication under the title "Neil Young and his use of Native American imagery in the sixties". Reading that brochure I found myself quoted in there, this time something taken from the rust list, yahoo phase, I guess. There should be a bibliography of printed Neil Young related publications or maybe it exists already?
At any rate: if my humble contributions are picked up so readily I thought I'd share some of the others I have not mentioned yet.
