Neil Young has announced that his Archives (NYA) have completed platform migration from Amazon to DigitalOcean per a statement.

In 2025, Neil Young announced that he would withdraw his music from Amazon due to big corporations "selling out America", as well as, Jeff Bezos' support of the Trump administration.  In January, a statement on Neil Young Archives, called for a boycott of Amazon.

The now-completed migration was considered technically demanding and costly internally. The migration team was led by archivist Phil Baker, together with DigitalOcean's engineers, who developed a new infrastructure for cloud storage, databases, and servers. As part of the move, the entire streaming workflow was also modernized to improve performance and scalability. A key component of the new architecture is a "hot storage" layer. This temporarily caches frequently requested audio content. Frequently streamed tracks can thus be delivered more quickly without constantly accessing long-term storage. For platform members, this translates to shorter loading times, more stable streams, and fewer interruptions during peak usage.

By making the migration away from Amazon to DigitalOcean's platform, Neil Young believes that the switch is part of a larger movement away from the dominance of a few technology companies and toward independent digital services and stronger local structures.

    Sun Green. Be the Rain!

Trump has accidentally boosted Green Energy by engaging in this idiotic Iran War! Even though all he wanted was “beautiful coal” & fossil fuels, he has inadvertently caused the largest exodus from fossil fuel dead energy “that the world has ever seen.”

Congratulations Mr Trump, you accidentally caused something good despite your evil intent.

The world needed a miracle, a green cheerleader to bring on the change needed to save the human (& critters, & nature).

The Environmental catastrophe of the status quo has ended. The Idiot King has inspired the world like a speech of his never could. Dump is not known for being a green booster. He fought his hardest to defeat green energy.

But fighting his hardest collided with the Iran war & the evil bombing of civilians by the US. We all have blood on our hands, your US tax dollars at work.

Luckily for the good people of Earth, Trump is such an idiot that he brought on the very thing he hoped to destroy.

Except for that Trump’s long con will be after the world economy crashes, he & his cronies will buy it all up for Pennies on the dollar. It’s gonna be a “fire sale.”

Good for Neil Young for not supporting welfare for Billionaires! Good for Neil Young! Long May You Run!

Blue wave gonna sweep the Reds & Putin lovers off their feet! Trump is either an agent working on behalf of Putin, or, he just did every single thing Putin ever told him to do!

Putin must have some good videotape of Trump. “Epstein videotaped everything.” At last we understand the incomprehensible.

Let’s send Trump to Hell while he is still alive, with our peaceful protest in massive form.

#NoKings has been growing by the million each time. Now that we have a shot @ decent weather, lots of people are going to start protesting all day, every day. Don’t lose your job over it, but ya, go protest! Make a sign!

There is amazing positive energy among the members of our protest movement. There is healing in community when you join like minded birds of a feather in protest. It feels very good.

So yes, make a sign to carry, or just show up. We need to heal after the damage done by Trump. We need National healing after bearing witness as a nation to Trump’s endless war against decency.

We need to heal after the horrid crimes & horrible actions of the Idiot King. Crimes against humanity. Just like Netanyahu.

No more Gaza genocide! No more US tax dollars for weapons to give to Israel. I am part Jewish, so don’t freak out too hard by what I am saying.

Let’s make a better world to live in!

  3. Alan. Did you catch T Rump’s “Read My Lips” moment?

Speaking on the White House South Lawn before departing for a diplomatic trip to China, Trump was asked to what extent “Americans’ financial situations” were motivating him to make a deal with Iran.

“Not even a little bit,” Trump replied. “The only thing that matters when I’m talking about Iran — they can’t have a nuclear weapon. I don’t think about Americans’ financial situation. I don’t think about anybody. I think about one thing — we cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon. That’s all.”

I DON’T THINK ABOUT AMERICANS FINANCIAL SITUATION. I DON’T THINK ABOUT ANYBODY.

If he isn’t thinking about Americans, he for sure isn’t thinking about other global citizenries or economies.

  4. Ya Herb, I did see that he had made that remark: political gold for the Dems! Not just the gold leaf kind!

Herb, you got all of that right in your commentary. The world economy is going to crash.

Trump showed the world that Oil is unreliable! The supply got interrupted & it is going to result in economic catastrophe for many around the world. Countries can see that green energy is the answer. China is there to provide products & Tech.

Dumb shit Trump blocked all of the many hundreds of thousands of green energy jobs the US could have created. US could have been a leader in Green Energy! Instead Dinosaur Dumbass Dump steers the country right into the ditch. What an asshole! Never worked a day in his life! Lazy ass sleaze bag, our kleptocracy & the wannabe dick tater.

If Trump likes it, most likely it’s rotten, whatever it is. If he hates it, it’s got to be a virtue. This is a rule of the universe in Trumpian nightmare times. Any good act is wrong, & being a prick is Great!

If homeless get fed & housed, that would be a Christian kind of a thing to do maybe… Trump would not like that. What a F’ing prick our idiot king is. Never missed a chance to do the wrong thing.

He believes in nothing except chaos & destruction. He does not have the Midas touch- quite the reverse! Everything he touches turns to crap.

US Empire crumbling as we watch in horror. When will the Republican Congressmen open their eyes & find their backbones! Stand up! Save the US from the president! Any crime of his must be punished. His administration will be prosecuted. Some for war crimes! Trump & Hegseth are war criminal. I am pretty sure Stephen Miller will also be held accountable eventually. Unless they all move to Russia.

Let’s fix this shit! No more wars! No more genocide! Health care for all! Shelter for those who need it! Food for the hungry! School & protection for the kiddos.

    1. Alan,
T Rump & family has now netted 4 BILLION since the felonious grifter has returned to office. All while slashing social safety nets & wreaking havoc on global economies & stability. He brought his clown show on the road to China. Billionaire buddies all along for the ride. TACO talks tough to the MAGA sheeples, but kisses ass, sucks up & crumples like a cheap suit over a spineless frame. Iran still has nukes & @ least enough military might to keep the strait of Hormuz locked down. Epic Fail. The only T Rump success story here is Epstein. He has succeeded in burying the headlines and his own culpability. The world is watching in disbelief. As our military is depleted, as our national debt (a majority of which is held by China) increases. T Rump has all the cards all right. Jokers. And China is the “House”. Everyone knows the House always wins. Except for T Rump.
He is desperately trying to rig the midterms by steering his Republicant courts to re draw voting districts. If he fails at that there is no doubt he will claim voter fraud. If that fails, and the Democrats do regain control, another ignored impeachment will follow. I will continue to attend protests, rallies & of course, VOTE. Helpless & Looking for a Leader…

  5. Looking for a Leader!

You are correct in all counts Herb. It is a horrible time for our country as it is plundered by these criminals. Some will end up in prison perhaps.

Yes, keep showing up at the protests!

  7. I am outdoors in the shade of the sunshine, sitting & chilling. My neighbors over the back fence placed a pickle ball court there. Now I understand why neighbors of those courts sometimes complain.

I do warfare differently. I am in our shaded outdoor hangout spot where I had the pleasure of hosting Thrasher.

I collect boom boxes as well as CDs & some records. I like to have a small portable one to enjoy while taking a bath. But right now my thrifting has only brought me large boom boxes that sound great.

Right now I am answering the pickle ball sounds by loudly playing Neil Young & Crazy Horse live at Fillmore East, songs from the first album. And it occurs to me that I have not been listening to nearly enough Neil Young music!

I have been listening to a lot of music & new music to me like the Deadstring Brothers & my new favorite good times band: The Mavericks. Raul Malo, RIP! Another great band I missed until the singer died. Same w/ The Pogues!

These are some of my favorite bands now. But I have finally gotten to the point where I have a deficiency in my blood of Neil Young music. I tend to avoid my favorites to keep them fresh. I had also been avoiding Jimi Hendrix for a long time & he is my all time favorite musician at the Great Gig in the Sky.

Yes, I confess, I have not been listening to hardly any Neil Young music for a while now. And now I am ready again to drink from the source, the fresh clear waters of deeply excellent rock & roll & all from our hero, Neil Young!

I am pretty excited about the upcoming studio album from Neil & the C H’s. I have a funny feeling it’s gonna sizzle! His last album was perhaps a “throwaway” along with the feelings that inspired it. It was a bummer to see the human relationships suffering.

I hope grandpa is spending time with his grandkids again & that we will all soon be enjoying a major work from this band & Neil Young.

“Come on baby let’s go downtown!” The boom box blasts, firing warning shots across the back fence. I will hold no quarter…. Maybe a half dollar. It will be worth a penny soon, depending on the time frame of the inflation in the measurement. Hooray for the former American Empire.

Ya, here we are in the Trump era, & I am
today in my Aggressive Pacifist role with CGITS rocking away. My neighbor resorts to power tools for a minute.

One upon a time in a different colonial conquest the US Army placed loud music to drive Manuel Noriega out of the Mission (Church compound) he was seeking shelter in. The US Army cranked up Jimi Hendrix’s Voodoo Child at top volume (11).

If that was me in there I woulda been thanking them for the first rate music & audio entertainment! Bring it on! Is that all you’ve got?

Oh, I forgot to mention that the neighbor has a dog that never seems to stop barking. I have already spent some time with the “quiet approach” but we are way past that now. The gloves are off.

I am kind of joking about all of this. There is no actual war. But if there were I am confident I will win today’s battle.

    Roll another # 🌞

PS - Love the neighbor! Only crank up the really good stuff! More Barn!

    1. 😁Good one Ron! I will test it out. Day 2 of my Neil Young binge. I think I am going to listen to a NY album or live show every day until the new album is out, & then I am gonna listen to that a bunch.

Still I have a shortage of Neil music in my ears, a deficiency which must be corrected. I don’t need to buy anything, just need to listen. Thank God for music; this world would kind of suck w/o it!

This morning I am going to meet up with a few buddies & we are going to visit Jimi Hendrix in person at the memorial again. This trip might make it a dozen times I have visited.

The Hendrix memorial is not to be missed, Renton, WA. Formerly Greenwood Cemetery, now known as “Memory.” The memorial is fantastic, impressive, artistic, beautiful, surrounded by purple flowers.

Hail to the king of rock & roll! Chuck Berry was the father, Jimi was the king. We may need to debate Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, & Howlin’ Wolf.

I am assuming anyone reading this blog already knows this information. If not, look it up & enjoy.

I am gonna tell Jimi that the Neil Young fans send their love. Any messages you need me to pass along?

“Thanks for all the music, Jimi.”

  11. When Hendrix died in London, nobody made a move to help. Except Bob Dylan: he paid for Hendrix’s body to be flown back to the US, and for him to be buried. He may have had a hand in the construction of the memorial, not sure. YBAiS

  12. Hi Alan,
it maybe too late now, but I am very much interested in a rub-off (frottage) of Jimi Hendrix' grave stone. It may appear to be a rather strange project, but infact I am collecting these direct graphic representations of writers, poets, and musicians tombstones. On my last trip to the US I collected a fair number of rub-offs- of of jazz musicians headstones at the Bronx Woodlawn cemetary and the tombstone of Felix Pappalardi (Mountain), but also Levon Helm's drum kit stone and the modest marker for Rick Danko nearby at Woodstock cemetary.
One day (after retirement...) I will make them into an imaginary public pantheon, where James Fenimore Cooper will meet German romantic author Ludwig Tieck again, H. D. Thoreau meets Jack Kerouac and Bert Brecht sits side by side with Jim Morrison ("Alabama Song"). I covered quite a few famous gravesites in Berlin, Vienna, Paris, New York, Boston and many other places across Europe.
Sometimes I just rub off the name and the dates, as in the case of Miles Davis who has a huge wall sitting on his grave, sometimes I cover the whole stone (the original stone for Kerouac or Hannah Arendt for example). In Europe acquiring these sheets is not much of a problem. People here mostly understand that this is a gesture of reverence, not like the defacing of Morrison's Paris resting place marker.
In the US things are more complicated because the cemetaries sometimes are private property and you get warned about trespassing.
All you need to do this is a large sheet of paper and a block of graphite (as used for large graphite sketches).

    3. Avid cyclist here. It's a shame US cities are generally so hostile to this most sensible mode of transportation. I also have noted that despite Neil's environmental concerns and interest in various forms of transportation, he has overlooked the most efficient form there is. You'll find nary a reference in his catalog to the iron steed. Ride on Brother Alan!
