More concert reports @ “Love Earth Tour”: Neil Young w/ Crazy Horse Concert Dates (UPDATED).
Epic show in Bridgeport! When You Dance, Barstool Blues, Big Time, I’m the Ocean. Band sounded fantastic - they played for about 2:10. I really enjoyed Wed night in Forest Hills but this was way better. One of my all-time most enjoyable Neil shows - partly because who knew if we’d ever get another Horse tour, but frankly the man still sounds great, and still plays an incredible guitar.
ReplyDeleteI saw the first 2 shows of the Coastal Tour at the Ford, and they were very special, but this is the best show I’ve seen in some time. If you have a chance to go, do it!
Seth - you are so right - what an epic show. Neil was very loose and chatty - not something you always get at a Neil concert. It is hard to pick out the best song - he was just very relaxed. It was great to see the band walk off together at the end of the night with Neil with his arm round Billy and chatting away. I pray this isn't the last ride for the Horse because they certainly seem to keep Neil - Young- time to induct Crazy Horse into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
ReplyDeleteI read somewhere that NY merchandise has a shirt with SPAC as the Farm Aid venue this year, bit I don't think it was announced yet?
ReplyDeleteListening to the author-narrated Special Deluxe audiobook, I just learned that Neil Young pronounces Dume as “Doom.” That is all.
ReplyDeleteThis was an absolutely stellar show. Neil was on point and the band was great. Micah threw his guitar 10 feet in the air from sheer exuberance. Only gripe was no video. Cmon Neil.
ReplyDeleteI have spent much of Sunday reliving the concert in part thanks to all those who have posted videos of the show on you know where. I made a conscious decision not to video anything so I could focus on the show last night and boy am I glad I did. My musing through the videos led me to videos of other recent shows and what a delight. I got to see a stellar version of Hurricane the one song apart from Ambulance Blues I really wanted to hear. Of course Neil has yet to play AB on this tour. I just hope this time around Neil releases a live double album and DVD/Blueray from this tour. We are still waiting for the Alchemy tour DVD but remember Rust Never Sleeps and I’m getting old. Please Amber Jean make this one for us Rusties who are running out of time to Roll Another Number for the Road
