A new Neil Young concert date has been announced for Ohana Festival, Dana Point, California on Sept 28, presumably w/ Crazy Horse.
The Ohana Festival will headline Pearl Jam the day before and after the Neil gig.
Per comment by GDTRFB71:
[Eddie] Vedder traditionally plays solo or with his side band Earthlings at Ohana, but performed with Pearl Jam for the first time at a series of shows there in 2021.
Vedder has also guested on numerous occasions with Ohana artists such as Liz Phair, Johnny Marr and the Killers, so it wouldn’t be a major surprise if Young and Pearl Jam team up in some form that weekend.
As the new shows get added it I’d like to see the tour end up in the Great Pacific North West so we can consummate our TW meetup on Dan’s doorstep. Miracles happen every day.
ReplyDeleteOutlaw Field beckons in Boise. Auburn is a great venue too.
Can anyone comment on the “RV Inn Style Resorts Amphitheater” venue in WA state near Oregon & I-5? It looks good.
Neil, you are invited to return to the Great PNW on this tour. Thank you!

Dana Point Ohana Festival will be Epic, but I ‘d still rather see Neil & the Horse live at a smaller show, with room for a longer set.
ReplyDeleteIf they are a headliner, they will probably play a longer set & shows these days aren't that long, unfortunately.. The thing I am thinking about with Ohana is Neil could join Pearl Jam Friday, night, and obviously vice versa Saturday
DeleteThis is where I read this breaking story, and I cut & pasted that comment about them teaming up from here also, but I forgot to put quotes. The announcement supposedly came from E. Vedder, so probably a good source.

@ GDTRFB71 - good points. as we all learned in high school: "cite your sources ...always"
Elvin Bishop's sittin on a bale o hay he ain't good looking but he sure can play. Lol. Side burn Bishop BA legend. People come from near and far to hear Richards Betts pickin on that red guitar. Another great gone. Is that Dana Point a Vedder a thing.
ReplyDeleteRIP Dickey Betts : I was lucky to see him play with the Alllman Brothers w/ Warren Haynes several times.
ReplyDeleteHe wrote some classics.
I was thinking maybe Neil should record a song or an album with Jeff Tweedy!

RIP Dickey . . . to answer your question Alan I've been to RV Inn Style Resorts Amphitheater only twice in the last 20 years. Rush and then the CSN&Y "Freedom of Speech" tour. I call it the Ridgefield Amphitheater, it's just north of Vancouver in Ridgefield. It's a very standard amphitheater, Wikipedia says it has 7,000 covered seats and 10,000 lawn. On the lawn, for Rush, the sound was pretty quiet so I recommend going for seats. I don't think there's a "pit" down front. I prefer the Gorge at George, WA or Maryhill Winery (where I saw Dylan and Santana) for their rural vibe and unique aesthetics. Also in that category is Hayden Homes in Bend.
ReplyDeleteMyself I am looking forward to the general admission Deer Lake Park shows! GA and Neil don't come together too often, plus kids get in for free! God Bless Canada!!!! I do have two tickets for the sold out Tuesday July 23rd show that I would like to sell to someone once Ticketmaster allows that.
Jeff
@ Jeff : Thanks for venue comment. Quiet is not good for a concert, but I wish I would have been there for CSNY!
ReplyDelete@ GDTRFB7 : If I had big money, I would attend Ohana. I’d be praying for “I Got Id” but would probably be disappointed.
The tour start is at hand. I am very excited, looking forward to this Thursday!
