"Lookin' for a Leader"

“Lookin’ for a Leader” - new lyrics

“We had Barack Obama and we really need him now.
The man who stood behind him now has to take his place somehow
America has a leader building walls around our house
Don’t know Black Lives Matter and we gotta vote him out.

We got our election but corruption has a chance
We got to have a big win to regain confidence
America is beautiful/But she has an ugly side

We’re looking for a leader for this country far and wide
Just like his big new fence
This president’s going down
America is moving forward
You can feel it in every town
Scared of his own shadow
building walls around our house
He’s hiding in his bunker
Something else to lie about.”

  2. The new lyrics for Looking for a Leader are absolutely brilliant!!! Just tell it like it is uncle Neil. I am so proud of Neil for bringing this song up to present day 2020, and speaking his truth to the world. I hope it creates waves from sea to shinning sea....... and beyond.

    Peace

    1. Really? I found your response cringeworthy. Did you boo CSNY tour in 2006? Boo a band known for political activism? Unreal.

  5. The Trump administration has actually done quite a bit to help American farmers, much more than any of the previous 4-5 administrations. Just saying.....

    3. Well, seeing how one of your stories comes from the New York Times and the other one from CNN, I'm gonna take a chance and go on a limb and say that both articles just may be slanted against Trump.

Don't ask me why, I'm just going on instinct here. Post something from a source a little less biased, and then we can talk.

    4. Or perhaps YOU could post a source for your claims?

  6. You mean just cut them checks to make up for the failed trade war?

  8. My comments are in the previous post, just add one. This could have been great in true black and white colour.

Ok it's over and I try to sum up..

Times in the tepee is definitely full of symbols and Neil's harmonica has never been so Dylanesque.
Looking for a leader with the extra lyrics is surprising, from an almost forgotten song to an anthem.
Alabama and Southern man .. a winning pair, I was hoping for Southern as soon as Alabama started, but Neil displaced them. Good choice, though.
Ohio, almost obvious in this case but do not need anymore blood, never
Little wing .. please explain! I miss the link

Long, inspired, political, social and environmental session. We do not need walls around our house.

And that footstomping is marvellous, reminds me of the old black and white times when every sound had a meaning. Just like this session.

Thanks Neil from Roma Italy Europe Planet Earth. We love you.

  13. Me too Sony!
I thought Alabama and Southern Man acoustic did not age well and seemed "whiny"
Little Wing was a brilliant closer..
Is Little Wing the pure idea of the USA?

  14. Richie, The NYT is generally very good in their reporting on United States Agriculture. Trump has offered help to US farmers, mostly the same kind of help offered by other administrations: doing what is necessary to keep big agriculture in the profits. Strange but true, we are talking about more money than Wall Street. Trump does mostly nothing for marginal farmers or people farming on 250 acres or less (the majority of farms in the corn-belt). Trump also weighed in heavily for confinement farming as he supported pork and meat processors as "essential." (What would US citizens eat if they ran out of pork chops?) Trump knows nothing about the ties between Big Ag, global warming, and the Dead Zone in the Gulf of Mexico. In short, Trump knows about as much about the problems with agriculture as he knows about virology.

  15. I hope my views are not suspect because I am an academic researcher (although I am in the field quite a bit).

  16. Probably the best session yet, got to agree with previous comments that the new lyrics for "Looking for a leader" are brilliant and so in keeping with what's going on in the world at the moment.

  17. @Abner: Thank you for your clarity. I feel like many people have been conditioned to only believe news they read instead of listening to their own instincts about what’s real and what’s not. The truth is somewhere in the middle of the information we are fed. Discernment and independent thinking is in short supply these days.

    Peace 🙏

  18. Unknown, are you speaking of my claims? About agriculture? Please send me an email address and I will send you a bibliography of sources on Federal and State funding for United States Farmers. Or, even better, you can look up these sources yourself. Try Google Scholar, look for reputable journals such as Agriculture and Human Values. Scientific American has several recent and very good essays on climate change and the corn/soybean production in the United States. I personally do not consider big agriculture evil and heinous persons, there is a system at work that perpetuates all kinds of problems. I totally disagree with Neil and GMO's- this is just advanced technology of hybridization (now it is gene splicing) and there is no reason to think it is disease causing and it has the potential to feed millions more people globally.

And by the way everyone "America" is no longer regarded as an acceptable direct synonym for The United States. Mexico is "American" and so forth. Which continent? Which country.

Best Wishes to Everyone and Dan- thanks, I hope you are well, keep bringing your peaceful mind and soul to the airwaves.

    1. Do you remember the last concerts in Australia, Neil? The ones where you upset 'friend's by playing one song and upsetting tens of thousands of your 'friend's all night' nice to just jam with Poncho!
