Much beloved Rustie Lauri Lieber died on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Hackensack University Medical Center. She was 55 years old.

Lauri was a long time rustie who made friends with Neil Young fans from around the world. Here at Thrasher's Wheat, we have known Lauri for decades and have shared many Neil Young concert memories like Telluride, 2016 and her last Neil concert in Philadelphia, 2018. She will be truly missed by all.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Lauri grew up in Kiamesha Lake, NY and lived in Patchogue, NY for 20 years prior to moving to Clifton, NJ 3 years ago.

Lauri graduated from State University of New York, Oneonta and was a teacher in Central Islip, NY for 20 years.

Lauri was the mother of Shaina Stolworthy (Nick Randall) and Andrew Stammworthy (Corina). She was also the daughter of Gerald Lieber and the late Phylene (nee Schlifstein) Lieber and the sister of Julie Ardito and Stephen Lieber.

A Gathering of Friends honoring her life will be held in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona NJ on Friday, April 19 from 4:40 pm to 7:30 pm.

ReplyDeleteGoing through these photos takes us back to a lot of warm memories and hanging out before, during and after so many Neil concerts. Bridge weekends, Telluride, Philly.
Lauri was always there w/ Joyce. Together they really made for a pair of Neil fans.
Rusted sisters separated at birth and reunited in music.
One of many memories of Lauri was her giving us the Telluride plate pictured above. It was after the 2nd show and everyone was hanging out, tailgating, having beers and swapping neil stories. She shared the commemorative Telluride concerts plate which we have on display in the TW R&R basement.
