NEW Neil Young Official Live Video: "Ohio", 2018

Neil Young and his wife Daryl Hannah have created a new video for the CSN&Y song “Ohio”.

The video uses concert footage from the recent solo tour and seeks to help bring about “common sense gun control laws.”

On his website Neil Young archives (NYA) Times-Contrarian , Neil writes:
“With no real laws protecting us from guns, and with politicians supporting the NRA because the NRA supports them, we are not well represented,” Young wrote on his official website. “Today’s students are brave, demanding change in violent times. We stand with them. They are us. We are them. This has been going on for too long. My wife Daryl and I put this video together for you to reflect on. Support the students. Support our children. They want protection. No more guns.”

  1. Great Job On This Video! Simply Amazing That This Song Seems Even More Relevant Today, Right Now... VERY SAD

  2. Saw this on Archives yesterday and thought it was excellent. Neil's comments are concise, appropriate and deserve support.

I think the film is excellent and I'm delighted it has been picked up by various outlets. It is currently showing on the Home Page of the BBC web site here in the UK - bbc.co.uk They are choosing to headline the marriage confirmation but in fairness they show the film and in their article they've detailed the background and context.

    Good job Neil and Daryl.

  3. Thank you Neil for reminding us that we are still in danger. Especially now more than ever we need someone to remind us that it DID happen and it WILL happen again, if we don’t change. We don’t seem to learn. We just keep doing the same things over and over expecting a different outcome.

Be the change you want to see and the world will change. Don’t fall for the lazy idea that things will never change. Peace is unattainable and war will never go away. These are all lies. We just need to change our thinking.

    Peace

  4. Great Job of reminding us we need to stand up for our rights. Trump and his party must go....they want to turn the US into a 1 party dictatorship.....our government must get back to the non-partison policies/politics of the past and the 2 houses of government work together to come up with the best solution to today's issues....VOTE VOTE VOTE in 2018

  5. the reality is that it is better to have a gun & not need it than to need a gun & not have it = fact
this is a fallen world and evil exists...
I'm thankful that I am able to own guns to protect my family.

    1. No one wants to take your gun(s) (how many do you need?) if you are a responsible gun owner. That is not what this is about. I am nearly 66 and have never needed a gun. We can change the world. Peace and love will ultimately win, if we do our part.

  7. The video seems compiled from multiple concerts.

The intro dialog about being in the redwood trees might have been from Chicago, 1st night. The shots towards audience looked like Detroit with Fox Theater chandeliers. The concert footage was definitely Philly because that was the only concerts with the silhouette back-lighting and smoke. The smoke as a metaphor for tear gas.

All quite effective. Daryl did a nice job editing.

  8. The US is a very confused country today and seems to be going to Hell in a hand basket. Environmental threats (Global Warming, superstorms) , gun violence, and a total lack of compassion for the homeless, & hungry are a recipe for societal breakdown. Economic collapse is approaching, in my expectation. I support stricter gun laws, absolutely. Kids don't need military weapons. I love Neil Young and I like his video a lot. Thanks Neil and Darryl! 9. the intro is the Broken Arrow. Its the last house on Bear Gulch Rd. It has 3 or 4 other properties very nearby tho. Right near the rickety mansion is a beautiful redwood grove with a creek. Vote Blue. Everything rides on it.

  10. Yeah, she could drag me
    over the rainbow,
    send me away
    Down by the river
    I shot my baby
    Down by the river,
    Dead, oh, shot her dead.
