A Sincere Apologies to Our Readers & Supporters of Thrasher's Wheat

Yesterday, we posted on Neil Young being in the recording studio recently.

In the post, we stated that the recording was with the band Promise of the Real along with "Storytone"'s composer-arranger Chris Walden conducting orchestra.

This was not entirely correct. Neil Young was recording with Micah Nelson only and not brother Lukas Nelson and the entire Promise of the Real band.

Once this was pointed out in comments (thanks Robert!), we immediately issued a correction and a notice that we would investigate the fact checking department here at Thrasher's Wheat HQ and make any necessary corrections.

In turns out one of our trusted sources emailed us with the Subject Line: "Neil and POTR in recording studio this week photo!" After checking various sources, photos, Facebook, Instagram, etc. we were satisfied that this was not fake news and sufficient proof existed for the posting yesterday.

As we wrote recently when challenged over "proof" of Neil Young's album "Hitchhiker", we take seriously our responsibilities to the Neil Young community. As our dear rustie friend "Expecting 2 Fly" says: "This is our journey, our self-appointed task."

Our journey, task and responsibility to honestly separate the wheat from the chaff.

To separate the truth from the lie.

The REAL from the fake.

So again, please accept our apologies and know that we're working hard here at TW to bring only the freshest of wheat to our dear readers.

  1. So ridiculous! I hope there's some sarcasm attached to this over the top apology to the readers for the terribly lies you've been spreading about Neil Young and who he's recording with. Jesus Christ.

  4. Thanks for the correction. No big deal. Tho some might consider misinformation to be sacrilege, I find it interesting that he is recording with Micah! Thanks Thrasher. Keep up the good work. Alan in Seattle

  5. Thanks for this Thrasher. No matter. However it's laid down. Neil's next project will be stellar.

  6. Thank you Thrashers for your integrity in keeping us informed. I'm disappointed with some of the harsh individuals who frequent this site. Let's not allow them the power they so obviously lack. Love keeps no record of wrongs. Thanks for being imperfect.

  7. Thanks to all for your understanding and support.

@ John T. - actually a bit of a mix of both sarcasm & sincerity. It's kind of like what David Foster Wallace once said of irony.

"The problem with sarcasm is that not everyone gets it."

Check the story links and we think you'll get it.

    Keep on rockin'.

  10. Thanks Thrasher for your vigilance in delivering Only The Truth. We know how hard you try to post accurate, timely, and often crucial information. With Fake News rampant, it's nice to know you're here for us. Keep us posted on the Neil Young session featuring Jesus and the Pope. That one sounds fascinating.

  11. @ Timmo - thanks man. That means a lot. As much as we try and use maximum disCERNment, at some point you just gotta have faith.

  12. @rightwing and rustnvrsleeps, I'm mistrustful of anyone who claims to have an exclusive relationship with Jesus Christ... or Allah... or Krishna... or The Green Man. Regardless, I like to think Jesus knows his music, in which case he would be pleased to jam with Neil Young. Look back through Neil's catalogue of spiritual songs (you may be surprised how many there are spread across the albums and years), and I challenge anyone to say they can't hear an earnest voice of contemplation and searching. I don't understand how that can be wrong, unless you believe God has set us up to fail.

Incidentally--speaking of wings-- "Love is a dove that needs two wings to fly" (http://mysongbook.de/msb/songs/i/ihatetoh.html).
