For those of you going, I encourage you to get there at the start so you can see and hear all of the performers. It's always great to see Neil, Willie, Dave and John do their full sets, but everyone who appears earlier on this year deserves your full attention as well. I wish I could be there with you, and will be checking all of the available performances on-line.
ReplyDeleteHere's my suggestion for a one time performance. Carlene, Margo and Sturgill should join together for a Carter Family tribute, maybe start with Keep On The Sunny Side, then Dixie Darling, Wildwood Flower, You Are My Flower, Gold Watch and Chain, and ending with I'm Thinking Tonight of My Blue Eyes. During that last song--which contains the DNA of many other great songs--Willie can come out and join them for Great Speckled Bird, New Prisoner's Song and Merle's Big City for the finale, ending with Ring of Fire. That would really be something!
