About That Time That We Went To A Farm Aid Concert...


About that time that we went to a Farm Aid concert...

It happened between the songs "Human Highway" and "Harvest Moon".

Neil Young begins his commentary on the state of the family farmer. My seatmate was TW's Tour Manager "Hounds That Howell" -- who hoisted a F*CK Mon$anto shirt (see below), which caught Neil's eye.



Neil says: "I like that shirt. Fuck Mon$anto."

We flipped off Neil and his band Promise of the REAL -- to which they in return flipped us all off back.

Quite a joyous little moment in our concert going decades.

Our friends the FarmAidians brought down a busload of shirt wearing "F*ck Mon$anto" shirts which were a big hit.

Thanks to all for so many wonderful Farm Aid 2016 memories.

And there is only one place we'd rather be right now...




inside the warmth of the "Huddle Hop".

    Challenge: name the 3 top reasons why you hate Monsanto?

    I am lifetime Neil Young fan, who is also active in science communication community, and the scientific skepticism community. I often find the reasons most people don't like Monsanto doesn't reconcile with the evidence.

    #1 Glyphosate- their round up ready corn uses a poision known to be damaging to people and the environment. Everyone here uses it and sprays it all over. Its horrible stuff. Its in our water, food, and is bad stuff.
    #2- their patented seeds can't legally be replanted and they sue people who save their own seed. Also if round up pollen drifts into my corn field and I save my seed, they can sue me.
    #3 they buy up seeds that compete with them and remove them from the market limiting choice and promoting round up ready seeds which have use glyphosate and can't be replanted
