Neil Young & Promise Of The Real's Europe 2016 Concert Tour ended this weekend at a castle in Austria -- cut short by thunder and lightening -- a fitting conclusion for a tour supporting an album titled EARTH, which opens with... thunder and rain.

8 Weeks, 26 Shows, 17 Countries.

Some statistics:
  • 71 different songs, 699 song performances
  • 28 song setlist (July 15 - Italy, Rome, Bath of Caracalla)
  • 1 New song debut: Tumbleweed (July 23 - Austria, Linz, Castle Clam)
  • 10 One off's: The Loner, Love Is A Rose, Tonight's The Night, Hey Hey, My My (Into The Black), Homegrown, Saddle Up The Palomino, Hawaiian Sunrise, I Am A Child, Are You Ready For The Country?, People Want To Hear About Love
  • Concert of the Moment: Amsterdam on July 9, 2016 , seems to be a high water mark of not only the tour thus far, but possibly of Neil's entire 42 year career. It was without doubt an epic night in Amsterdam by all accounts. 26 songs. 15 different albums represented. 3.5 hours. 2 song encore. and so on.

Lukas Autry Nelson: "Hell of a time in Europe with Neil Young . Thank you Mr. Young for taking us under your wing"

  1. For my fellow anal-retentives: There were 68 songs played in Europe, that grid
includes the Southern U.S. shows earlier in the year, three tunes were done there that weren't repeated overseas: Okie From Muskogee, Pocahontas and One of These Days.

  10. Looks like six acts so far (with more to be announced) spread over 10 hours or so (festival starts at 1 p.m.), so kinda doubt Neil will be playing for three hours.
