Last night, Pegi Young & The Survivors performed at Johnny D's in Boston, MA along with a special guest -- Neil Young.

Neil Young joined Pegi Young & The Survivors band and debuted a new song we'll call "Further Down The Road". A pretty jammy tune if we say so.

  1. I can't tell, but maybe someone else here can. What guitar is Neil playing? Is it a Gretsch Panther?

  3. Thanks for posting this! Don't think I've ever seen Davis Square looking that crowded before.

Wish I could say that I was there, but if I was then you know you would have already heard from me. I kind of figured Neil would be there for this show. Based on Pegi's schedule and Neil's appearance on Capitol Hill, it made sense that they were travelling together.

I had a family commitment which kept me from heading to Somerville, but I didn't have an advance ticket and most likely would have been stuck outside--but even that would have been great. I did say last night "you can be sure that Neil will be there", just seemed somehow certain.

This was a WUMB show (the UMass Boston radio station), and members got front row seats. It's a great station and I listen often, so how cool is it that they had Neil show up for a show that they sponsored!

Thanks again, T. Hope to hear some more from anyone who was fortunate enough to be in attendance.

  7. I was at the show. Never dreamed in a million years that Neil would be there - never mind play the whole time!!! I recognized him obviously right away but his back was to us. My boyfriend had to work so I brought my girlfriend. She not a big music fan, he a music freak and a huge Neil fan. Been to many shows. HE HAS NOT SPOKEN TO ME SINCE I SENT HIM THE TEXT "NEIL IS HERE!" What should I do???

  9. Thank you, thrashers. I hope so. I spoke to Pegi on Wednesday night. She signed my cd and the whole band did too. Kelvin brought it on the bus for all to sign. Neil had already left! Wonder if he would have signed too? I'll never know. I just wanted to tell him I so appreciated his sharing in his autobiography. I felt connected since I had given up alcohol too around the same time he did. I wish him happiness and more and more finding out who he really is. I know what he is going through. And he is special!!!

    Thanks again,
    AnnC

  10. I agree with asg. It is way to low for Neil's voice. Kind of a simplistic, dull song.

  11. Kind of a simplistic dull comment. I was there. The song sounded great and the whole night was really good. Peggy and the band were so good a and Neil was hanging back all night playing very tastefully and then they came back for an encore and played this song which he had apparently just written. He can sing it in what ever key he wants.
