  1. Great gallery! The photographer used this picture on the cover of his book because it' not only Neil you see. It's also a self-portrait of him (in the left glass) and his rock-writer companion (in the right glass). They were always together on the road in the seventies. The one of the left made the picture that Neil used for the cover of Tonight's The Night, the one on the right wrote the article that was printed on the inlay of Tonight's The Night. The pic for the TTN cover was shot on November 5th 1973 at the Rainbow theatre in London. The Santa Monica Flyers. Legend has it that the writer cleared the tapes he made from Neil because the Eagles were on the bill too. He talked to his girlfriend about this and she told to go see Neil again. And so he did. Meanwhile the photographer had printed some pics from the Rainbow show. The writer gave the prints to Neil and the rest is history. The photographer got paid 500 bucks by the record company and they did send him a lousy T-shirt as well. The same shirt that Ronnie was wearing on stage. But that's a different story. The point is that I still don't understand what was on the tapes that were cleared. One would suppose an interview with Neil was on it but as far as I do understand the The Santa Monica Flyers show was on the tape. So, he had to go back to record another show... weird, isn't it. Imagine rock-writers recording shows in the seventies...
